Pyrion Flax announcer in the files.

Listen, I don’t dislike the guy. His videos make me chuckle, but the announcer pack he’s submitted is just terrible. I’m fine for people making announcer packs and getting them added, but they have to at least put SOME effort into it. The pirate pack is someone actually doing a voice, Pyrion Flax’s is just him speaking. That’s it. I honestly think this needs to be addressed.

Feel free to discuss your opinion on the situation.

I posted it on reddit already. I don’t agree with it and Valve should think a bit before adding things into the game. this is Alpine Ursa all over again!

e: Also I don’t care if Dendi has a Announcer Pack. If the quality of the announcer pack is bad it shouldn’t be add to the game.

First of all, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. It’s not something like a cosmetic item which you show off to other people, it’s just for yourself and does not interact with anyone.

As far as I am concerned they can implement every single announcer pack anybody can think of, because I will never have to hear it myself. Cosmetics you are forced to see (until someone mods the game), announcer packs are only heard if YOU enable them.

For this reason I do not see why it would even bother you in the slightest.

My only complaint is the quality standard gets lowered theoretically. If something terrible gets in, what’s next?

It doesn’t bother me. What I do care is things with good and relevant content for the game itself. I see Pyrion Flax’s videos on youtube and that guy is hilarious but the Announcer Pack isn’t and it seems superficial.
If they can implement every single announcer pack why didn’t Valve added DOTACINEMA’s one?

The fact that there is no option (as of yet) to disable cosmetics does not mean I should just accept having these items/announcer packs in game.

I don’t feel that this should be in the game this announcer pack, but as there IS an option to not be able to use it, why can’t the same be applied to ALL cosmetics? Same thing happened with TF2, with constant updates of adding hats and gimmicky items. My already stretched bandwidth couldn’t handle the constant updates TF2 had and I eventually had to stop playing and updating all together.

This is why I think announcer packs like this shouldn’t be added to the game. Because you will then have every man and their dog who has the smallest amount of E-celeb status making an item or an announcer pack and dota 2 will start to go down that path again of constant updates with nothing but new items for the store.
