If you don’t play dota2 and don’t know what flamesalt ingots are and you never queued for the year beast even, close this tab and get out, i don’t feel like explaining even half of it

And yes this is mostly a rant, i got to farm around 700ish ingots in the week, that aparently is a nice number, however the gold you receive from ingots is just a one time run thing, once you spend it, they are gone, you got 6 divine rapiers because yolo? now you don’t have any gold for your next try

Fortunately i was not one of those people (because i tried practice mode first)

But many, many people did

And if you soloq, you are going to get 1-4 people with no gold to buy items and do nothing and die in literally 1-2 hits, and if you also have no gold, well you are pretty much ****ed

On the nice side, i use Skeleton King a lot in normal dota and i got a rare crown from the lvl6 gift so why
not try him?

First try, wasted 75% of the ingots i had, Rank C

Apparently his ult was bugged (if you die with it it doesn’t revive you) his q did no damage and neither stunned the thing but even then his w and e worked perfectly

Apparently too well

On second try i had this ursa instalocker telling me to pick SK and max w and e and dump everything in stats, so i did, i had just just enough gold get crimson guard and armlet

And what a surprise, we both were the only two guys with gold to buy anything

So 3 people did absolutely nothing but distract the beast, lowering our dps, because we were sustaining trough everything that thing threw at us, in fact we let them die and we stopped reviving them 4 mins in

And even then, we got rank C again

I played some normal dota matches to get enough ingots for a armlet and vanguard

4 people had no items

o well time to google some builds/strategies to solo it and get a nice rank for tokens.

So we either had 2 options, yolo it when the limited 24h gamemode came out and fail miserably because we don’t know what to do
Or wait a bit and other people will make us fail miserably because nobody has any inglots anymore

I was lucky and got 800 jade tokens from abusing a bug i don’t even knew it existed

And many people wasted 8 days worth of playtime for nothing

TLDR: The gamemode is stupid and flawed and apparently is made that way to make you buy boosts, if you have any ingots left to spend wait for the beast to comeback in some days when valve fixes all the bugs in this thing,
And:
DO NOT QUEUE NOW NOBODY HAS ANY GOLD ANYMORE AND THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING AND WASTE YOUR INGOTS

Why don’t you just 5-stack with people who know what they’re doing?

It’s really pathetic, a pay to win gamemode (YEAH I KNOW THE GAME IS ****ING FREE I KNOW) that you need a 5 stack to do well in a one trick pony gamemode you farmed for during the entire week, and what valve does? Oh, let’s patch every single “exploit” so it’s stupidly harder to get anything better than Rank F in soloq.

It could be a cool raidboss battle, but why it needs to be so hard except for people who play this game 24/7?

Plus, i just have one friend that plays dota2 half frequently, and i haven’t seen him in the entire day

-5 man stack with your friends.
-if you don’t 5 man stack you are stuck with people who does no item grind
-you get 120 ingots every time you play a game
-you get 250 jade token which is a free cosmetic every time you get 100k+ damage. No ingot needed
-at least there’s an event in Dota2
