Snapfire is a ranged strength hero armed with a wide array of firepower, riding into battle on her dragon toad Mortimer. Her powerful Scattershot blasts foes who get too close, while her mounted turret increases her range, allowing her to unleash a barrage of rapid fire attacks. Snapfire’s coveted Firesnap Cookies give allies a boost, allowing them to leap a short distance. The cookies aren’t her only secret weapon, her dragon toad has the ultimate nasty surprise for the enemy team—a long range artillery barrage of Mortimer Kisses that coat the map in searing lava. Bio [ edit ]

Beatrix Snapfire and her dragon toad Mortimer are a welcome sight to the ragged folk who scratch out lives along the desert routes and oases scattered throughout Nanarak, the rain-forsaken gateway to the Outlands.

As well known for her unrivaled skills as a weaponsmith as for dispensing wisdom, mirth, and the meanest firesnap cookies the world has ever seen, Beadie’s survived to a ripe old age in a young keen’s trade by being quick with her wits and even quicker with her guns.

Indeed, the Outlands are littered with the bones of bandits and ne’er-do-wells who thought to take advantage of her small stature and propensity for kindness.

Abilities [ edit ]

  • An additional visual effect is played on enemies hit at point-blank range.
  • Damage dealt at point blank range is 120/225/330/435 ( 210/315/420/525).
  • The cookie travels at 700 speed and cannot be disjointed.
  • Destroys trees upon landing.
  • Sets Snapfire’s base attack time to 1.0, increases her attack speed by 300, and sets her attack damage to 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 for the duration.
  • Each affected attack places an additional instance on the target and refreshes the duration of the whole stack.
  • Can reduce up to 120/150/180/210 attack speed if all attacks are aimed at one target.
  • Attack speed slow also affects towers, even through Glyph of Fortification.
  • Deals a total of 270/360/450/540 damage.
  • Shoots globs over a period of 6 seconds, meaning that one glob is shot every 0.857 ( 0.4) seconds. Skilling the +8 globs talent doubles the firing speed and maintains the 6 second period.
  • Issuing a move command causes Snapfire to turn in the direction of the targeted point and re-targets subsequent globs at that point.
    • If the command is targeted outside the maximum range or inside the minimum range, the glob will be launched the maximum/minimum distance respectively in the direction of the move command.
  • Enemies making contact with firespit pools receive a debuff that slows movement speed by 25% ( 50%) and deals 25/37.5/50 damage every 0.5 seconds. The debuff lingers for 0.5 seconds.
    • The debuff does not stack. Touching any pool will refresh the debuff’s duration.

With Dota 2 being launched, many players along with DJ transitioned into Dota 2. With Valve making a partnership with Nexon, the scene saw a South Korean server and a 1.7 million USD league established in 2013. [3] After it was revealed that his current team-mate at that time, Cast was invited to help a newly formed Korean team EoT Hammer and saw that there were roster issues, DJ saw this as an opportunity and seized it so he can further continue his dream of playing DotA as a professional player. He joined EoT Hammer in November 2013 and moved to South Korea the following month. Adapting to South Korea and their culture was difficult, along with the search for a sponsor as his income was only from his winnings. EOT Hammer managed to place fourth in Nexon Sponsorship League Season 2 and runner-up to Zephyr in Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3. On May 4 2014, EOT Hammer went under a new name called Rave, and DJ along with most of its members continued their run under this label. DJ played either the mid or offlane depending on Cast’s decision, the captain & drafter at the time. During the post-TI5 shuffle, it was announced on the 26th of August that Fnatic acquired DJ for their team. DJ, happy with the pickup, replied: “Coming from Korea to the Philippines and then to Malaysia, I am no stranger to living abroad now. Dota 2 vs League of Legends (LoL)

LoL and Dota 2 are free-2-play titles in the genre of MOBA. The games were released in October and July, but League of Legends in 2009 and Dota 2 in 2013. Both games were developed by U. S. companies – California’s Riot Games (LoL) and Washington’s Valve Software (Dota 2). Riot Games, however, works on the development and improvement only of LoL game, while Valve is a developer and publisher of many games.

These are not the only similarities and differences between LoL and Dota 2. These games share a lot of things in common due to the same genre, but if you start researching and comparing, a lot of differences will become evident.

Dota 2 VS League of Legends: major gameplay features

1. The map

Both maps in LoL and Dota 2 have 3 lanes – the bottom, middle and top. Also, there is a sort of jungle in every game. The LoL map is smaller, therefore the champions need less time to regroup, so it takes less time to go from the base to a lane.

The map of Dota 2 is much larger with the full composition of both teams (heroes even need to buy teleports in order to quickly get to the right spot), and go from the base to the bottom to the line for a very long time, which negatively affects the farming.

Dota 2 map is not symmetrical and different sides have different advantages (due to the forest creep farm). In LoL the map is symmetrical, forest creeps are tied to their camps. The towers of Dota 2 map have less damage to heroes than in LoL, which allows some heroes to kill an opponent right under these towers at the start of each match. Also, the towers in LoL immediately switch from creeps to the rival champions. The towers in Dota 2 are destroyed faster due to less damage.

If we compare Dota 2 vs League of Legends, Dota’s map has 2 barracks on each lane, they are impossible to restore after destroying. In LoL on each lane there is a building that can be destroyed only by the strongest creeps, and it is restored after 5 minutes.

There is more tactical space on Dota’s map (it can be hidden, so it’s easier to deceive the opponent. There are more jungle bushes in LoL leaving it less space for tactics.

2. Basic rules

In LoL usually all the champions are attached to their roles and lines, and stand on them for a very long time with a very few exceptions. Almost always in LoL on the top there is a surviving melee champion, one of them goes to the forest, one goes to the mid lane (most often a tank with a huge damage from abilities), support stands with carry. In Dota 3 heroes can stand on the same line, or two can go to the mid. The lines are full of chaos, reinforced by constant battles from the middle or jungle.

In Dota 2 there are more varieties of runes and they give very tangible benefits for river gameplay. In LoL, the runes are not so strong, they cannot change the course of the battle (but they are very useful). Besides, they can beat even neutral creeps.

3. Champions/heroes

In LoL champions have 1 passive and 4 active skills, accompanied by 2 additional spells of a Summoner. In Dota 2 heroes have just 4 skills that vary between active and passive ones. Also, in LoL there are more champions than in Dota 2, because it is already the 7th season of LoL that was released in 2009.

4. Creeps/minions

Many gamers believe that creeps are in LoL better than Dota 2 minions the forest creeps are random and much depend on the player’s luck. Besides, you will be able to eliminate your minions in Dota 2 to not let your opponents use them. It is not possible in League of Legends.

5. Items

League of Legends players need to purchase Health Potions, they never stop working depending on the champions unlike in Dota 2.

6. Game’s pace

Sessions in Dota 2 last more – up to 70 minutes per match vs 30-40 minutes for LoL. This depends on the balance features of champs and heroes in games.

7. In-game store

Many MOBA players believe that Dota 2 store is more variable in quality and quantity. There are more customizable, fan-made items, different cosmetics. There is a separate community workshop approved by Valve. LoL offers a standard MMO online store with runes, boosters and cosmetics. Besides, the user interface of LoL store is a bit confusing for newbies.

Dota 2 vs LoL 2018: graphics and sound

1. Graphics and design

There are 4 years between the releases of LoL and Dota 2. Surely, Dota 2 looks more beneficial from this point of view. For example, if you compare the two games in the series Call of Duty 2013 and 2009, the difference will be significant. The same is here. The graphics are just different, although, according to the humble opinion of most players, Dota 2 looks more up to date.

Though fans of LoL claim that Dota 2 has plastic, unnatural by animation heroes and ugly creeps. Unlike the charming minions in League of Legends, with their more appealing, cartoonish animation. But tastes differ.

2. Sound

If we compare Dota 2 vs LoL from the aspect of sound work, the sound in both games is very qualitative. There is a voiceover into different languages. Heroes of DotA 2 are more talkative than champs in LoL. But who said that talkativeness is good. Someone may get tired of heroes talking all the time.

Dota 2 vs LoL: community

1. Popularity

League is more popular than Dota 2 if we take the global player base (100 million vs 13 million unique players). Why is LoL more popular than Dota 2? It has more tournaments and a vaster community of active players, though it can be very toxic for newbies. The community of Dota 2 is usually not that aggressive.

2. New players

Undoubtedly, LoL gameplay is more welcoming for new players. Because in Dota 2 the gameplay can be a bit overwhelming for new MOBA gamers. Farming in LoL is much simpler and it is easier to reach high ranks. This is a current situation if to compare Dota 2 vs LoL 2018 updates.

3. Updates

Dota 2 has a fewer updates compared to LoL that is updated very frequently along with new modes. League‘s patches are usually more stable with regular fixes of imbalanced champions. Also, LoL is better than Dota 2 because the updates usually contain more reworks, reskins and retools of its champs.

Lol vs Dota 2: the winner

At last, let’s sum up the comparison of the biggest titles in MOBA genre. At first, the reasons why LoL is better than Dota 2:

  • The bigger user base with 100 million active and unique gamers and this number is raising monthly;
  • There’re a few game modes and maps, with the most popular mode of 5v5 battles on the map;
  • LoL has more champions to offer;
  • More regular updates;
  • It is simpler for new gamers;
  • Matches are shorter;
  • Better balance between skills and tactical team play.

However, despite the numerous pros of LoL, it is not a verdict in the battle – Dota 2 or LoL in 2018. From a few points, Dota 2 can be more appealing to many MOBA players:

  • Dota 2 was released later so its graphics may seem better for most players;
  • The thriving eSports community with a bigger prize pool;
  • Dota 2 is more complex and offers more mechanics;
  • New players will probably lose more often to more experienced gamers.

If you are wondering about the causes why League of Legends is better than Dota 2, a few things come to mind. Eventually LoL has a more flexible gameplay and more newbie-friendly. But Dota 2, on the other hand, is more sophisticated by gameplay.

What Is Dota Auto Chess And Why Is Everyone Playing It?

Share

If you believe the internal tracking in the Dota 2 client, upwards of 70,000 concurrent players are engaging in a single custom map: Dota Auto Chess. It’s definitely not chess, and although the characters share some similar abilities to Dota 2 counterparts, it’s absolutely not Dota either. Instead, Dota Auto Chess is a turn-based tactical strategy game that pits you against seven other players in round after round of resource-management action – you won’t need any APM to compete here, as all the units do battle on their own after you place them.

Players begin simply by picking a single unit from a selection of five. After that, options expand rapidly as the game gets under way, as your population cap and unit choices grow larger. You can pick any units you like as long as you have the gold and space, and that’s where team-composition strategy comes in. Putting units of the same race and class together has powerful and often game-deciding effects. For instance, a team stacked with mages will cause the opposing team’s magic resistance to greatly decrease, meaning your spells will absolutely ravage them. Assassin stacks get giant crits, knights get shields, mechs regen, hunters get massive damage boosts – you get the idea. Omniknight dota 2 counter alchemist Mixing and matching race/class combinations to stack all kinds of bonuses and effects is critical to success. Other race/class combos offer more interesting synergy, like druids being able to “rank up” using fewer units than others. Ranking up is an important aspect of the game and another layer of strategy, as it makes your characters much more powerful.

To rank up, you’ll need three of the same unit, which is made more difficult if everyone in your game is trying to play the same races/classes, so it’s to your benefit to try and seek out lesser-played characters in order to rank them up easier. Everyone draws from the same unit pool, so if everyone wants to stack mages, those players will crumble easily as they struggle to rank up units while the knight player gets all the uncontested rank ups to themselves.

In addition to attempting to forge the best team, keeping an eye on your funds is critical. You get money from wins, win streaks, lose streams, and interest each round. You can sandbag early on and take some losses and damage to try to get a big interest stack kicking, but try and tempt fate too much and you may lose the game before your big stack of cash starts providing meaningful dividends.

Each round you face a random opponent from whoever is remaining in the game, until there’s only one left standing. Placing in the top three will net you some candy, which you can use to unlock cosmetics you can use from game to game. After a few games, you’ll also get a ranking based on chess pieces, like pawn, knight, or bishop, and this will go up and down as you continue to play games.

Every so often the custom map scene has a mod that catches fire. While its longevity remains to be seen, if you’re into this sort of strategy experience, you can play it for free inside the Dota 2 client (which is free) on Steam, so I recommend giving it a shot. It’s not chess, and it’s not Dota, but it’s a great game to queue up and play with friends or solo. It takes a few games to start to understand how everything works, but it’s got some really fun strategy hooks underneath everything. What is Dota 2?

Like CSGO, Dota also started as a fan-made project based on the “Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne” expansion. For a mod made by enthusiasts, it didn’t take long for the game to reach unprecedented popularity and in 2009, Valve Corporation hired the lead designer to create a modernized and accessible remake for game. Thus, Dota 2 was born.

Dota 2 is a MOBA which allows 2 teams of 5 players to compete in an arena-style battle to see who comes out victorious. Dota 2 (which stands for Defense of the Ancients 2) has huge followings all over the world and plenty of commercial and smaller scale sites accept esports bets and provide players with numerous types of betting markets.

General DiscussionIs DotA 2 dying?

u started an account to see your stats and posted on a forum for dota 2. so nope

if u’r 1k mmr u will feel that

I dont think that it is dead but my higher mmr friends believe it is dying. I honestly disagree but i’ve recently heard alot of people agreeing.

Dead game for sure, people living patch to patch on meta heroes but fun died in this game a long time ago.

higher mmr friends believe it is dying.

can you please tell me what you see as higher mmr friends.

yeah inhouses should come back other than that the games fine

we also need to keep in mind that unfortunately our opinions as 5k+ players are kinda irrelevant in the great scheme cuz we’re just 0.1% of the playerbase, the fucking 2k normies are the ones who decide if the game is dying or not

No. People are just way too dramatic.

been dead for a long time now

1 million players at the same time, 12 million monthly users
It’s not been higher, so if anything it’s growing.

Just look at statistics instead of asking autisitc people on a dota forum

Can someone party with me guys? I’m just a 2.7 scrub and I really want to get out of that bracket. I’m willing to learn. Thanks

12 million players 2 weeks ago
Gained 200k new players til today

idk m8 but im back on my losing streak for this patch again.

prize pools that shit on any other game’s tournaments.

Hell, LoL’s grand-fancy-worldchampionship prizepool is shat on by smaller majors.

Up to TI4 the game was perfect after that its just been Inbalance after Inbalance
PA spamm followed by Sniper / troll spamm Storm spamm followed by Windrunner spamm followed by Huskar spamm

ratting is a bit back now but was dead up till now since TI4
And teampush aswell

it seems like carry being carrying is back a bit too instead of the of The solo mid carrying everything.

Still its a bit of patches to go to get back to the good old days where you could play varius diffrent styles and still have a 50/50 shot at winning instead of The play carrying solo mid with husk or wr (metashit) or only 5% change to win.

Dead game would be game that has no player base and no tournaments whatsoever, there is no acctual dead. Dota 2 is not even close to dead and new players are always emerging, maybe young players are not used to dead games so they think game is dead even it is not. Getting online, having 100 active friends in all mmr ranges is kinda alive. Maybe problem is on higher levels, or on pro level, but it is understandable, since not many players can achieve that level and join that club, so it seems dead specially when some of them stop playing or leave for other game.

Personally I think it has already reached its peak at TI5 and now slowly declining

If decline is case, we would see dota 3 coming out, not new patches. It might be normal that there is loss in interest between two TI’s. Let’s wait and see what happens when hype kicks in. Game slike Dota 2 that are so much releveant in e-sports and have such huge amount of money involved do not just ‘die’.

^they just introduced dota3 (=dota 2 reborn)

its dieing personally for me. i think a lot of players become frustrated by the weak ranking system and boring meta plays.

i just have to find a game, which can replace dota. Famous dota 2 teams mb the division, once it comes out in march. looks promising anyways.

But it is still dota2 with new interface. Sorry, didn’t know it counts as new dota game. Rank system has it flaws for sure, game meta changes, some heros from top tier picks go back to mid or low, it is how it is. You can always say good bye to dota and come back whenever you like, start from 0 and find way to enjoy it, but I doubt it will die so easily.

Meta sapm has been present since forever. Nightmares of 6.57 DP and Necro still haunt me. Morph in 6.64. Zombie post rework. etc.

Game was actually dying during reborn beta, and post reborn release due to people being unfamiliar with the main menu, hipsters complaining that the old one was better (when it’s NOT, the old one was super basic, good, but too basic)(arcade mode is amazing) and all the bugs and glitches that came with reborn dropped the population, now numbers are high again.

I don’t get how people can say TI 2 and 3 had more players, uh, it didn’t, I didn’t play back then, but the statistics are there, game has grown ALOT. Prize money for tournaments is higher, MOBAS are STILL ON THE RISE (hence why tons of moba clones are coming out like crazy) PC gaming is on the rise (Dota or counter strike usually being the first games people hear of on Steam) Also, when the International 2011 was happening, Twitch was barely being born, and the game didn’t get nearly as much coverage back then as it does now. (seeing as Twitch is now main stream, and everyone has a Twitch account these days)

Many many casuals play games for the first time cause they thought it looked interesting when watching it on Twitch, Twitch has done ALOT more for gaming than people think.
Game is fine.

Looks 2 me like the game is just growing! Sure some people have given up on the game, but they should be ignored. There’ll always be players passionate about dota, just as there’ll be people who are shall we say less keen on the game. I normally play by myself now, as my friends have started playing less or moved away, but I still have a gr8 time every game! There are some complete dickheads but a lot of gr8 people & there always will be.
Dying or otherwise, it’s a personal choice 2 play the game.
