Difficulties [ edit ]

Bots come in 5 different difficulties (Passive, Easy, Normal, Hard, Unfair) [1] .

• Passive bots will lane passively, and will not attack players, bot or human, except when they see an allied human player/other bot attack their enemies. They will not try to last hit nor deny, and sometimes will stick to the tower. Passive bots will never use their abilities/items. If an allied human player disconnects, a bot on the opposing team will return to the fountain and stop playing, until the player has returned.
• Easy bots are different to passive bots, as they willingly attack other heroes and use abilities/items (with the exception of Phase Boots , Force Staff , and Orchid Malevolence ), but usually at a slow/delayed pace, and their last hit timing is not as accurate as on higher difficulties. Neither allied nor enemy Easy bots will deny creeps. Easy bots will generally not attempt to gank other lanes, and will only group up in small groups to push or defend. Easy bots will not attempt to “stun-lock” enemy humans/bots, nor will they try to interrupt channeling spells. Also, Easy bots are unable to detect whether a hero is an illusion or not.
• Medium bots are almost >Meat Hook or Sacred Arrow ). If their Hero has a good spammable or harassing spell, like Viper or Death Prophet , they will repeatedly use sa >Summary [ edit ]

Biography [ edit ]

Artour was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on July 1st, 1996. [1] Before playing Dota 2 professionally he played the original DotA as well as Starcraft II. Arteezy played Protoss, and reached Masters before he started playing Dota 2. [2]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Due to his young age and commitment to his studies, Arteezy had postponed any plans to play Dota 2 professionally. In April of 2013, Arteezy finally committed to a team and joined Kaipi for the summer, along with ComeWithMe. [3] However after just four months Arteezy left the team and went inactive in order to once again focus on his studies. [4] In September of 2013, Artour joined Take Five, a casual team of ringers, in order to participate in Ra >[5]

On January 31st, 2014, Arteezy, along with legendary North American Dota players UNiVeRsE and Fear, as well as former HoN players ppd and zai created S A D B O Y S, which had immediate success. The team won sixteen out of their first eighteen matches, including winning the Electronic Sports Prime/Shock Therapy Cup while going undefeated. On February 21st, 2014, Arteezy and company were announced to be the new Evil Geniuses Dota 2 squad. [6] This would mark the first time that Arteezy would fully commit to a team for the long term. On March 7th 2014 the new EG made their LAN debut at the Monster Energy Invitational, where they won 3-2 against Cloud9 in the finals. With this victory the team quickly began to establish their reputation as one of the best teams in the world, due in no small part to Artour’s dominant play in the m >[7] Artour and EG ended up going home with a 3rd place finish and $1,038,416 USD.

On January 6th, 2015, it was announced that Arteezy had joined Team Secret and he would now be playing the hard carry role. [8] [9] With the addition of Artour, as well as zai, Team Secret was now seen as an all-star caliber team and was lauded as the best team in the world. The Dota 2 Asia Championships was Team Secret’s tournament debut, and they quickly stormed through the group stage finishing with a 15-0 record behind sol >[10] Arteezy’s second spell on Evil Geniuses was marked by consistent results with EG finishing in the top 3 of 5 consecutive LAN events. Despite this consistency they were unable to achieve many tournament wins with their only success coming at The Summit 4. This win also meant that Arteezy became the first 3 time Summit champion as he had won the first and third iterations of the tournament with EG and Team Secret respectively. Following the Dotapit Season 4 event, where EG lost 3-0 in the grand finals, it was announced that Arteezy had once again left EG to join Team Secret bringing UNiVeRsE with him. Arteezy returned to playing the mid role for Secret which he had not played regularly since his first stint in EG.

After poor results in The International 2016, he later departed Team Secret. On September 15th, 2016, Arteezy returned to Evil Geniuses as the carry role, he was once positioned. [11]

Over the past several years, OpenAI, a startup with the mission of ensuring that “artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity,” has been developing a machine-learning-driven bot to play Dota 2, the greatest game in the universe. Starting from a very cut-down version of the full game, the bot has been developed over the years through playing millions upon millions of matches against itself, learning not just how to play the five-on-five team game but how to win, consistently.

We’ve been able to watch the bot’s development over a number of show matches, with each one using a more complete version of a game and more skilled human opponents. This culminated in what’s expected to be the final show match over the weekend, when OpenAI Five was pitted in a best-of-three match against OG, the team that won the biggest competition in all of esports last year, The International.

OpenAI is subject to a few handicaps in the name of keeping things interesting. Each of its five AI players is running an identical version of the bot software, with no communication among them: they’re five independent players who happen to think very alike but have no direct means of coordinating their actions. OpenAI’s reaction time is artificially slowed down to ensure that the game isn’t simply a showcase of superhuman reflexes. And the bot still isn’t using the full version of the game: only a limited selection of heroes is available, and items that create controllable minions or illusions are banned because it’s felt that the bot would be able to micromanage its minions more effectively than any human could.

This put the humans on the back foot, and while they managed to draw the game out for another 20 minutes, they were unable to overcome the bots’ lead, giving OpenAI a 1-0 advantage.

In the second game, things weren’t even close; the bots took an early lead and breached the human base within 15 minutes. They took the victory five minutes later.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by OpenAI: a 2-0 victory against an established human team accustomed to playing with each other at the very highest level the game has to offer. This performance was far and away OpenAI’s strongest over the years.

The bots’ coordination is uncanny: though they can’t communicate, all five computer-controlled players think in the same way. If one thinks that it’s a good opportunity to attack a human player, the other four of them will think the same and will join in the attack. This gives the appearance of great coordination in teamfights—coordination with a precision and rigor that human teams can’t match.

A rudimentary Chinese room

But OpenAI does look beatable. It has definite, if surprising, weaknesses—it’s not great at scoring last hits, the killing blows on computer-controlled units that are used to accumulate in-game gold. This gives humans an opportunity to get an early gold advantage. The bots also struggled to counter invisibility on the human side. They also seemed to adapt poorly to certain spells from some of the heroes, in particular Earthshaker’s Fissure, a spell that temporarily creates an impassable barrier on the map. Humans were effective at using this to trap bot players and restrict their movement, and this seemed to confuse OpenAI.

The behavior of the bots is also an object lesson in the large gap between this kind of machine-learning system and a full general artificial intelligence. While AI Five is clearly effective at winning games, it also clearly doesn’t actually know how to play Dota 2. Human players of the game use a technique called “pulling” to redirect the flow of their side’s computer-controlled minions (known as creeps in Dota 2) as a way of denying the enemy team both gold and experience. Human players can recognize that this has occurred because creeps don’t show up when they’re supposed to. Human players have a mental model of the entire game, an understanding of its rules, and hence can recognize that something is amiss; they can reason about where the creeps must have gone and interfere with the pull. The computer, by contrast, just wanders around aimlessly when faced with this scenario.

No pulling

In its millions of games played against itself, OpenAI appears to have never picked up the technique of pulling, and so it has never learned to play against it. So when a human team starts pulling, the bot doesn’t recognize the situation and doesn’t really know what to do. It can’t reason about how the game should be, and it can’t speculate as to why the game is behaving in an unexpected way. All the bot can do is look for patterns it recognizes and pick the action most likely to yield the best outcome; give it a pattern that it can’t recognize and its performance deteriorates.

Until now, the OpenAI bot has been restricted; certain pros and streamers have been given access to play against it, and it has also been available to play against at some live events. But for a few days, that’s changing: Dota 2 players can sign up here to play against the bot—or with it—for a three-day period. Unfortunately, this public period doesn’t look like it’s going to result in a new and improved bot: beating a top human team was the goal that OpenAI set for its bot, and with that accomplished, the experiment seems to be complete.

Hello guys!
Well, Im having this issue that my mac wont start the latest update from Dota 2, first it was preparing but no new window or whatever, then i update my mac to YOSEMITE now the Dota 2 window start but its all black and after few seconds this image pop up:

Sorry for delay, im without internet and using in my phone, cause dont have at home now ç_ç
But i was talking about the Reborn Switch.
I solved the problem in a weird way.
While not working for no reason i was trying to check everything so i notice the launch options, then i asked my friend what was about and he told me about those commands so i had the thinking “Im already on the shit so roll on it a bit more wont make any difference”
Here the commands i used exactly in the following order:
1-dx9(i think i put it twice)
2-dx11
3-high
Somehow it worked. I really dont know why and this was the first time using Launch Options.
At least i have the game back

It’s good that you have things working, but it’s unclear why. DX9 and DX11 don’t exist on a Mac so those options won’t do anything.

I know, for me was very weird but I was trying everything to make it work so I even cared if Mac has DX9/11. I was choosing commands randomly and checking
Either when Valve released Dota 2 Reborn Beta i could never experience cause was not even opening, then i update my Mac to OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, the window opened all black but was failing without entering to the menu.
Just after setting those launch options(not touching any update in computer or downloading any new app that could cause problem) i could have Dota again and finally experience Reborn

I have Macbook Pro (mid 2012),
Processor 2.3GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512MB

In fact I’m very happy again joined my friends and training to don’t be noob anymore hahahah
But its very weird the whole thing still.

Dota Underlords may be the hot new game everyone is talking about, but Dota 2 is still one of the most played games in the world.

That’s right, in spite of being 6 years old now, the free-to-play MOBA from Valve is stronger than ever. In fact, Dota 2 is currently the second most played game in the world, with 450,000 concurrent players in one day.

The sequel to the infamous mod, Defense of the Ancients (DotA), Dota 2 pits two teams of five players against each other. Each team has to defend its own base while trying to destroy the enemies base.

You’re in control of a “hero” with unique abilities, and with more than one hundred to chose from, mastering your hero while playing as a team is a real challenge. This explains why MOBAs are so hard to master and why their community is so demanding (and borderline abusive with beginners).

Bottom line: It may not be as big as League of Legends, and Heroes of the Storm is still my personal favorite, but Dota 2 is still one of the best MOBAs you can play. With a 90 Metascore and 85% Positive reviews on Steam from over a million gamers, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Dota 2 Mac requirements

Before we go any further, these are the game’s Mac system requirements:

• OS: 10.9 or newer
• Processor: Intel Dual core
• Memory: 4 GB RAM
• Graphics: Nvidia 320M or higher, or Radeon HD 2400 or higher, or Intel HD 3000 or higher
• Network: Broadband Internet connection
• Storage: 15 GB available space

As you can see, this isn’t a demanding game by any means. Requiring merely an Intel HD 3000 means any modern Mac should be able to run it without breaking a sweat.

That said, for a long time gamers complained on Reddit that it was hard to get a smooth and consistent experience. We take it for a spin to see how it really runs on MacOS.

Can you run Dota 2 on Mac?

Unlike our official reviews on which we test a game on several Macs, we tested Dota 2 on the following macbine:

• MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016): 2.0 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, Intel Iris Graphics 540 (1.5GB)

This Mac should be a fair compromise as it remains a modest machine because of its integrated graphics but it’s still recent enough to compare with most MacBook Pros out there.

We tested the game on 1280×800 and Medium settings using the Exclusive Fullscreen option (which results in much better graphics and performance):

We ran tests using both the OpenGL and Vulkan rendering API.

Using the still standard OpenGL option, our MacBook Pro runs the game at an average 51,8 FPS (frames per second), which is more than enough for most:

Be aware that FPS can significantly drop when several heroes get into a fight simultaneously. For that reason, it’s better to run the game using modest settings for an overall acceptable experience.

We did run the game using the Vulkan API (which you need to install before running the game) and found it to be as fast but more stable. In the words, we experience a similar 50 FPS on average performance but the drops were less pronounced.

That said, the game did crash a few times meaning Vulkan is not ready for primetime.

Bottom line: If you own a recent Mac, you should be able to easily run Dota 2 on Medium settings. And remember, the game is free-to-play so it can’t hurt to try it for yourself!

Well this is my viewpoint but..

Why Valve does not make Exalted arcanas as Genuine Arcanas? No one cares about exalted quality, i have TB arcana and exalted quality is same of buying an normal arcana at low price in keys.

By the way, if they are releasing arcanas in every seasonal or game event, why they don’t make Fiery Soul Arcana (Lina arcana) as immortal? It was the first and the older, without opportunity of they sh***est exalted tag.

immortal is a status gained by items that DO NOT DROP, CANT BE CRAFTED, CANT BE BOUGHT from in-game store.

Arcana quality are items that drop, can be bought from in-game store and change the heroes appearance and skills.

I turned off all XBOX/DVR features, disabled VSYNC at Dota options menu and NVIDIA CP.
DX9/11 – same thing.
HW: gtx 1080, 7700k, 21:9 DELL 2560×1080 monitor, 60 hertz; OS: Windows 10 17134.81, nVidia driver 398.11.

Did someone have the same issue?

XBOX DVR is known to cap FPS on a certain level, I temporarily uninstalled this feature to see some sort of change to my fps, turns out it works. Don’t know if it’s helpful for high-end computers though. There’s some guide on how to temporarily disable/uninstall this feature to provide a better and sustainable FPS on games. Try googling it.

sometimes when you have a new nvidia geforce graphics card driver update on your geforce experience.

1) custom installation

2) tick “clean installation”

this will uninstall your current graphics card driver and erase the settings you put to default then they will install a “fresh” copy of it.

I would assume because of the talents. Most of the cores now have lifesteal talent. And for pushing Dominator seems better.

What about Anti mage and, pl i used to go for it after fury > yasha > Vlads > Manta

To me it seems that talents changed the way you build heroes for one reason or another, depends on a hero. I’m sure some bluestars will answer to this question better anyways..

new regen formula makes regen much better than lifesteal for most heroes so hotd is better. also 20 AS > 15% damage for summons as well

I used to go vlads for visage after domi, but i realized that drums is a lot better

battle fury gives regen
current focus on tempo means vlads is very underwhelming on most heroes
meteor hammer is better for pushing, hotd gives insane regen and is good for pushing, heroes that really liked Vlads (like ursa or old am) are now trash tier, emphasis on jungling dropped a lot, emphasis on soloing rosh dropped a lot

Vlads was core on antimage, cuz it gave you the ability to stay on lane and blink without limiations (manaregen). Since you can regen now while hitting neutrals, getting a clarity if needed or a salve is just the cheaper choice, without slowing your farm down.

Hope they either make a new item that builds from vlads or just rework it entirely. Ignoring how good it is, it’s just kind of a bland item that just gives an aura that boosts a bunch of stats a bit.

It became shit when they removed the Attack Modifier/Orb effect from items, since its the only lifesteal item before that wasn’t an Attack Modifier.

I think the reason is no more orb effects on simple lifesteal. Previously vladimir was the only lifesteal which wasnt orb effect. Ursa now needs only mask to take solo roshan

I asked myself the same question and i bought it on Brew today. Was pretty good but it didnt feel as strong as it was. I think drums might have been better but I wanted to buy vlads since I cant even remember the last time i bought it. It needs a buff or rework because yeah as others have said in this thread already, the changes to regen and other items kinda make it obsolete right now

Ring of aquilla is the alternate to vlads imo, good stats and aura that we can manipulate. Vlads might be good item on supports rather than cores since there are many good items that surpasses vlads.
