How Dota 2’s ranked recalibration works

Here’s everything you need to know about the new ranked season.

This article is brought to you by StatBanana, the best Dota 2 strategy tool.

Ranked season is once again here in the Dota 2 community. Since the introduction of seasonal ranks by Valve, players have had to get used to recalibrating every few months.

It can be a stressful period, especially for those aiming for high medals. For those who haven’t recalibrated, good luck and have fun. For those who have, there might be some unanswered questions running through your head.

Here’s everything you need to know about some of the more complicated aspects of ranked Dota 2.

How much MMR can you gain or lose during recalibration?

During recalibration, your MMR will be hidden until you’ve completed 10 matches. While there’s no official word from Valve regarding its formula, the MMR gain and loss for each recalibration match is roughly multiplied by three.

With the average MMR change being 25, this means that each win or loss will be amplified to 75. Theoretically, winning all 10 matches will mean you walk away with 750 MMR. The converse is equally true, however.

Do personal stats affect MMR gain during recalibration?

No, they don’t. Valve is working on better detection of smurfs, however, which could affect players with large winning or losing streaks.

A new account’s ranked calibration used to take personal stats into account. A hero dealing high amounts of magic damage or a hero healing, for example, would see increased gains in MMR. After Valve determined that they caused abuse, the developer adjusted it to become either a small factor or practically nothing at all.

In Dota 2, only taking down the Ancient matters. No matter how well you’ve played, you’ll gain the same amount of MMR as the rest of your teammates.

Valve talked about introducing a new system to “more aggressively [place] you into a more accurate initial rank” based on the account’s history and performance. While it’s unlikely to affect accounts with large amounts of playtime, it could impact players who are just starting their first ranked season. More details will likely be available from Valve as the season wears on.

Does the new Core and Support MMR system affect my rank?

For those with a high variance between the two MMRs, it’s likely that you might have received a massive downgrade of your preferred rank after recalibration.

A Valve dev confirmed that it was a recalibration bug and the fix has already been pushed out to the game. Soon, you’ll be able to see your actual MMR.

Valve also confirmed that it’ll continue experimenting with the new ranked season, including a percentage increment of the other MMR that you aren’t playing. Even if you only spam Core MMR, your Support MMR will increase along with it.

In the long run, the smaller support player pool might mean that core and support players of the same MMR might have wildly-differing ranks. With role abuse being taken more seriously, it’s likely that stellar support players who stick to their roles will rise quickly.

Why did my medal go down even with a winning record?

Even if your MMR increased compared to last season, your medal might have dropped in rank. This isn’t a bug but it’s a side effect of the decreased player pool.

Medal ranks in Dota 2 don’t have a set hard limit. Rather, they’re a fluid value adjusted accordingly to the relative skill level of the player pool. While there are no official numbers, according to a third-party MMR distribution website, Immortal players are practically in the 100 percentile, while Divine players are roughly in the 99 percentile.

At the beginning of the season, fewer players would have recalibrated their rank account. Therefore, despite having the same MMR as before, you might be ranked lower, percentile-wise, in regards to the rest of the player pool. As such, you’ll have a lower medal.

As the season progresses, it’ll be easier to climb to a higher medal. A player who calibrated at the beginning of the season and then plays one game months later could jump several medal ranks. This is why numberless Immortal-ranked players exist at the end of the season. While the medal rank has a fluid percentile value, leaderboard ranks are hard-coded at around 5600 MMR.

Remember, MMR is just a number. It can be exhilarating to jump several ranks during recalibration and just as soul-crushing to lose it. The most important objective in Dota 2 is to have fun, followed by taking down the Ancient. If you start getting upset over the game, take a break and come back. Dota 2 isn’t going to run away.

The five new items of the Dueling Fates update

Patch 7.07 brings a diverse shelf of new items for players to buy.

Share All sharing options for: The five new items of the Dueling Fates update

There’s a lot to learn with the Dueling Fates update, from gameplay changes to new heroes and plenty of item alterations. Every hero type is being given a lot of new content to work with—and now, they’ll be given new items to play with.

This patch introduces five brand-new items into the shop for players to buy during their battles. The spectrum of abilities, stats and builds for each gives players plenty of new territory to work with.

Whether you need your supports to be more powerful late-game, or you need to deal with a late-game hero with way too many buffs, there may be reason for every player to consider one of these new pick-ups. Each item has a dramatically different implications and implementations, from passive-ability lifesavers to, literally, crashing mayhem upon your foes.

Which items are worth a try? Check out our quick overview on each, plus our analysis as to what situations will allow each to shine.

Aeon Disk

(They use the title “combo breaker” in the URL for this image. Which makese sense.)

Costs: 3750 Gold

Requires:

  • Vitality Booster (1100)
  • Energy Booster (900)
  • Recipe (1750)

Provides:

  • +250 Health
  • +250 Mana
  • +25% Status Resistance*

*Reduces the duration of effects like silence/stun/disarm/root/fear/etc. For DPS debuffs with slows, it instead just reduces the slow values, leaving the damage amount unaffected

Passive Ability:

Whenever you take damage and are below 80% health, you apply a strong dispel on your hero and you gain a 2.5 second buff that reduces all incoming and outgoing damage to zero.

Cooldown: 100. Only triggers on player-based damage.

What’s the deal: Have you ever been chilling in the jungle and then suddenly just been, like, super dead? Unbelievably dead? For a mere 3750 gold, you can tell death to hold off for about three seconds! Aeon Disk seems like it’d fit on pretty much any hero, in theory, given its utility. However, where it’ll likely really shine is on heroes that are likely to get picked off, such as squishier gank assistants like Io, or gankers themselves like Clinkz.

(The URL uses the word “Trident,” which is almost more memorable than the actual item name.)

Costs: 1950

Requires:

  • Staff of Wizardry (1000)
  • Robe of the Magi (450)
  • Recipe (500)

Provides:

  • +16 Intelligence
  • +10% Spell Amp
  • +10% Mana cost & Manaloss Reduction*

*Note: Multiple instances don’t stack

What’s the deal: Sometimes, spellcasters just need a way to survive the late game, and this is a cheap and easy way to maintain that. This will likely be a guaranteed pickup against mana-burn heroes such as Keeper of the Light and Antimage, but it’s acceptable in any game with the mana cost reduction.

Meteor Hammer

Costs: 2625 Gold

Requires:

  • Ogre Axe (1000)
  • Staff of Wizardry (1000)
  • Ring of Regen (300)
  • Sage’s Mask (325)

Provides:

  • +12 Strength
  • +12 Intelligence
  • +4 HP Regen
  • +1.5 Mana Regen

Active Ability:

Channeling, 3 seconds. Summons a Meteor that strikes a 300 AoE and stuns for 1.75 seconds. Applies a 6 second debuff that deals 60 damage per second to structures (115 to non-structures).

Cast Range: 600, CD: 40, Mana cost: 125.

You have vision over the impact area for the channel duration. Meteor impact destroys trees. Meteor takes 0.5 seconds to land.

What’s the deal: Have you ever actually wanted to have fun in your game of Dota 2, without the effort of learning Invoker or picking Lion because he’s too squishy? Meteor Hammer is a relatively-inexpensive way to spice up your game! It’s probably ideal when your hard-supports don’t have initiation, as it provides a bit of extra tankiness and more mana pool in addition to the stun ability.

Nullifier

Costs: 4700

Requires:

  • Sacred Relic (3800)
  • Helm of Iron Will (900)

Provides:

Active Ability:

Dispels the target and mutes them for 5 seconds. Anytime the muted target is attacked, it will be slowed by 100% for 0.4 seconds. Applies slow on projectile impact.

Cooldown: 14, Mana cost: 100, Cast Range: 600, Projectile Speed: 1200.

What’s the deal: This is a fantastic late-game damage item, likely aimed at the untanky carry who needs to pick a hero off before they get away. It’s like a mini-Doom, but without the damage-per-second aspect—that’s all up to the item user.

Spirit Vesssel

Costs: 2825

Requires:

  • Urn of Shadows (875)
  • Vitality Booster (1100)
  • Wind Lace (250)
  • Recipe (600)

Provides:

  • +250 Health
  • +30 Movement Speed
  • +2 All Stats
  • +2 Armor
  • +1 Mana regeneration

Active Ability:

In addition to urn behavior, casting on an enemy target now reduces enemy HP regen and heals by 70%, and drains 3% of the target’s current health per second.

Casting on an allied target now amplifies HP regen and heals by 20%, and increases the target’s health by 1% of their current health per second.

What’s the deal: Finally, your Urn of Shadows isn’t useless in the late game anymore. In fact, now it’s legitimately good! Spirit Vessel is officially the “you’re not getting out of here alive” item. Especially combined with global or snipe abilities, a good use of the Vessel can lead to capping off teamfights more effectively, or saving a teammate in a pinch.

Dota 2 Season 3 Hero Tier List

Season 3 of the massive MOBA Dota 2 is now in full swing. With that in mind, it’s time to take a look at which heroes are dominating and which ones are being left in the proverbial dust.

Dota 2 first hit shelves back in 2013. Developed by Valve Corporation, Dota 2 is a follow up to the Warcraft III mod that later became known as Defense of the Ancients. Now, however, Dota 2 has taken on an identity all its own.

With a thriving pro league and a massive audience of fervent players, Dota 2 has been garnering more and more attention through the years. With season three of the exciting MOBA having just launched this year, things are only getting more exciting. Before you jump into the new season, however, take a quick look at our tier list to see how all the heroes are stacking up.

Tier List Descriptions

  • Tier S — These heroes are incredibly strong. Often targets of first pick or first ban, these heroes are powerful in almost any situation.
  • Tier A — These heroes are somewhat stronger than the average character. Consequently, these heroes often see steady use in the current meta. Warcraft 3 dota 2 heroes anti
  • Tier B — Balanced and fair, these heroes are capable and effective. While not the toughest of the bunch, these heroes still see steady use in the meta and can be used to the player’s advantage.
  • Tier C — These heroes demand high levels of skill in order to be used effectively. While not inherently bad characters, these heroes are generally only used situationally.
  • Tier D — The least often picked or banned, these heroes are generally believed to be the weakest. Cons >

A History Of Pudge, The Butcher, Now Winning Games At An Unprecedented Rate

Pudge is by far today’s most popular Dota hero, whose origins can be traced back to more than 20 years ago to Diablo 1, an ARPG by Blizzard. Many of Dota’s heroes in Warcraft’s days also borrowed their character design and lore from other Blizzard franchise—it’s no surprise that the iconic Alleria (Windrunner) and Illidan (Anti-Mage) also migrated their popularity into the Dota franchise. Pudge’s popularity has also still persisted to this day. While fan favorites like Invoker and Sniper have taken turns at the top, Pudge is the most played hero in Dota 2 of all time. This month alone, he’s being picked at a high of 46%, almost 50% more than the next popular hero, Sniper.

He was popular even before he was a viable hero, and now with his buffs patch over patch, he’s winning at a 53% clip. More games are both won and lost with a Pudge in the game than any other hero. How did it come to this?

From “The Butcher” To Abomination

This pixelated creature was once the most terrifying experience in video gaming

The Butcher was your first quest in Diablo and your first boss encounter. In a section of the game that’s about learning the mechanics and exploring the world, Blizzard, with a bold game design move—at least in the mid 90s—designed that first encounter for you to lose. The Butcher killed you in just a few whacks of his meat cleaver.

The only recourse was to run away, go deeper into the dungeon, and come back to defeat him when you became strong enough. The arching design idea was to give players freedom by allowing them to fail at the first stages of the game. The idea sounds quaint now, but this experience was part of what made Diablo the landmark ARPG of the era. Fountain hook dota 2 2015 qualifier

Enter “Pudge, The Butcher” in Dota 1. His Butcher title has since been removed, for the same reasons we now have a Windranger and a Bear-like creature for Brewmaster instead of a Panda. Fountain hook dota 2 2015 qualifier Dota 1’s heroes borrowed designs and lore from other Blizzard franchises, and with Warcraft 3’s Abomination character model, it was natural to import The Butcher from Diablo 1. Unlike The Butcher, the Abomination’s character model was more flesh golem than humanoid, now undead and donning multiple limbs. He still had the cleaver and meat hook.

Dota 2’s version became an amalgam of the hero’s past. He lost his extra limbs but was still undead, disemboweled, and rotting. Though he was no longer The Butcher, he still had the cleaver, meat hook, and apron. Everyone could put the pieces together.

Dendi surprises the audience at the TI all-star event

Dendi is the most popular pro player on our website, and it’s not dependent on the success of his team. He’s one of the few veterans from Dota 1 who is still playing at a high level today. And just as how legends have their signature heroes associated to them—Burning and Anti-Mage, Ferrari_430 and Templar Assassin—Dendi has Pudge.

It’s certainly an odd pairing, as Pudge was nowhere near as strong as he is today. He had obvious weaknesses, but the few things he was good at, Dendi and Na’Vi were able to extract the most out of more than any other team.

The infamous fountain hook strategy that pulled Na’Vi to a comeback victory against Tongfu in The International 2013

Because of Pudge’s weaknesses in previous metas, Dendi playing Pudge felt more like a selfless ode to Dota fans. He was willing to risk his team’s chances to win for the sake of entertaining the crowd. It could have been seen as disrespectful of opposing teams to do so, except Dendi found success with the hero. If Pudge wasn’t already a popular hero enough in pubs, Dendi was trolling teams on the big stage and winning at the same time.

A History Of Buffs

Pudge getting his Meat Hook nerfed (from 110/120/130/140 mana cost to 140 at all levels) in 7.07d was a rare occurrence. Aside from changes in 7.02 (285 to 280 movespeed) and 7.03 (Meat Hook speed nerf), he’s been getting buffs since patch 6.83, nearly 3 years ago.

Dismember was retooled over and over. 6.86 rescaled its damage and added healing, 6.88 lowered its cooldown, 6.88b increased its damage, and 7.07 nudged its duration higher and added a pull effect. Rot’s slow jumped from 20% to 30% over the same period.

Patch 7.07 also added another wrinkle to Pudge’s abilities that made him more viable in today’s meta: the ability to use Meat Hook to pull runes. Pudge players already had an advantage in the river, where Runes become attractive bait for enemy heroes. But now they also have a low-risk option to nab runes for themselves, then having the mana cost refunded as well.

Overtime, Pudge’s disadvantages have been mitigated. His weaknesses are now offset by buffs to his base health regen and Strength as a stat. Flesh Heap, now also with its own level 25 talent, became stronger when Strength gained status resistance perks. In the hero’s history, Pudge was popular even though he had clear disadvantages. He had unique mechanics and was fun to play. And now that he’s also winning more games than ever, he’s a menace to play against.

Sabotage And Treachery: Why DoTA players hate Riot Games.

By permastun August 10, 2013

In 2004, Steve ‘Pendragon’ Mescon founded dota-allstars. com, which became a worldwide hub for the DoTA community. For four years, it was the central destination for all things DoTA, including strategy discussion, design discussion, actual hero designs, hero stories, and fan art. In 2008, Mescon was hired by Riot Games to be the director of community relations. Riot Games was founded Brandon ‘Ryze’ Beck and Marc ‘Tryndamere’ Merrill. Riot quickly hired up DoTA All-Stars collaborator Steve ‘Guinsoo’ Feak, who had taken over development of the mod originally created by a Warcraft 3 player known as Eul.

In 2008, Riot Games also released its first game, League of Legends, into beta. Heroes de dota 2 mordred pendragon Not long after hiring Mescon, dota-allstars. com was abruptly shut down. In its place was a letter to the community from Pendragon himself, explaining why. It read in part:

The website will be offline for the next week or so while the database is moved to its new permanent home where its contents will remain archived and available to the public for the sake of historical preservation.

In the meantime, I hope some of you will join me and over 3 million other players for a game of League of Legends (it’s free!)

To put this into context, allow me to give you an analogy. This would be like Josh Allen going to work for Blizzard, shutting down tankspot. com and replacing it with a link to whatever project Titan ends up being. What’s worse is that the promise of the site archive being available in the next few weeks wasn’t accurate. It took over 3 years for the archive to be released, with an attached snarky message.

Well fuck you too.

Hey seriously though – I put this out there because I want people to have it, so I’m going to drop in the link and my contact details if anyone wants to use it for anything and need help please let me know.

Whether you like me or hate me, I poured years of my life into helping create a community that lots of people enjoyed and I’m proud of what it became. You can disagree with decisions I’ve made – some of which have been great and some of them not so great, but my intentions have never been anything but good.

Feel free to keep on hatin’

Mescon also sold the rights to the dota-allstars. com domain to his employer, Riot Games, who then turned around and sold it right to Blizzard. Unfortunately all attached files, including community made heroes, heroes that had been removed from the game, and tons of fan art, were not part of the archive. So in the end, a large part of four years of DoTA history was gone.

However, according to some community members Pendragon doesn’t seem to have been an extremely likeable figure in the community. Some DoTA veterans that I’ve spoken with over the past year or so have told me that they believe Pendragon, and his supporters, to be one of the underlying roots to the toxic nature of the communities in this genre. Many have cited his very public spats of rage in the early days of the mod to be very symptomatic and somewhat viral throughout the community.

Pendragon isn’t the sole reason these communities are toxic. He’s not even the sole reason Dota players despise Riot. A lot of this comes down to marketing tactics—such as creating the genre acronym MOBA—in an attempt to disassociate League of Legends with its predecessor and prevent it from being called DoTA-like, in the way that dungeon crawling RPG’s are sometimes referred to as Diablo-like.

But the real straw that broke the camel’s back was this marketing campaign.

Players felt this was a distasteful jab at a game and community that made their very existence possible. And they weren’t done yet. In 2012, Geoff ‘iNcontrol’ Robinson mentioned a rumor that he had heard over Twitter about Riot contractually preventing teams from having squads in other MOBA games. This was later confirmed by Evil Geniuses COO Scott ‘Sir Scoots’ Smith.

Riot declared these rumors to be unfounded, and eventually Riot relented on their demands. but the damage had already been done. As the years go on, it will be interesting to see if Riot will attempt to mend fences. Many members of the community have washed their hands of the situation and moved on, either to Heroes of Newerth or Dota 2. If the bottom ever falls out of League of Legends, Riot could be in some serious trouble when it comes to the hardcore gaming community.

Dota 2: Final Highlights of WESG 2018-2019

After four days of incredible Dota, it’s finally time to say goodbye. Today was the final day of WESG 2018-2019, which, despite not being a DPC event, provided an incredible $890,000 prize pool. Let’s take a look at what happened!

Keen Gaming vs Team Ukraine

The opening series of the day was between two of the best performing teams so far — Team Ukraine and Keen Gaming. Both of them finished first in their groups. Naturally, people expected this to be a very interesting game. However, this was not the case. Keen gaming completely tore the CIS squad apart in both games and advanced to the Grand Final.

In Game One, the Chinese drafted the classic Magnus + Phantom Assassin Combo that has proven to be very successful so far. Even though Team Ukraine was playing fairly decent for the first few minutes, one bad team fight shifted the course of the game. Suddenly, the two empowered cores of KG slowly became a little bit too much to deal with. Having no other option, No[o]ne and Co GG’ed out just 25 minutes in.

Facing defeat, the CIS team decided to do a cheesy start involving Anti-Mage. Sadly, their plan did not work. Kaka and his teammates utilized their Night Stalker pick to the max as he ripped through the enemy lanes. On top of that, their pick was focused on pushing, something which Team Ukraine had no answer for. Similar to Game One, the Chinese needed around 26 minutes to secure their win and continue further.

White-Off vs TNC Predator

#TNCDOTA2 Grand Finals! We take the series against White-Off 2-0 behind a pulsating comeback from the boys!

These teams already played against each other in Group C. However, this time the stake was a lot higher – the winner advances to the Grand Final.

One of the main attractions of game one was TNC’s Morphling. After pretty much annihilating the mid lane, he continued to cause havoc to the other heroes in the game. By the 20 minute mark, the SEA powerhouse took full control of the game. This resulted in a massive 9k net worth advantage. WO had no way to deal with their cores and decided to focus on Game 2.

The second game of the series was definitely a lot more intriguing to watch. White-Off had the lead for the most part of the game but despite that, they were just unable to deliver their knock-out punch. When the dust settled, TNC realized the farming potential of their Magnus + two melee core lineup and decided to use it.

Even though WO were able to get two lanes of rax, the push for the mega creeps did not go so well. SF’s Aegis expired in the middle of the fight and forced his buyback. Just a few minutes after that, another fight went in favour of TNC as Gabbi’s Juggernaut grabbed a Rapier. With 4 dead, Ramzess was the sole survivor but he couldn’t stop the zerg of TNC.

Even though WO deserved the victory more, the SEA team managed to snatch it.

The Grand Final

The Philippines is your #WESG2018 Dota 2 World Champions!

Keen Gaming and TNC Predator were the final two teams that had to determine the winner. TNC had some extra motivation – revenge for Kuku’s Chongqing Ban. Unlike other tournaments, the Grand Final here was played in a best-of-three format.

The SEA team had a very solid start of the game. Their Chen-Venomancer offlane was able to completely shut down KG’s carry. Unfortunately, the other lanes had the same problem. Keen Gaming had absolutely no answer to TNC’s aggression and had to call the GG just 24 minutes into the game.

Having the moral advantage, Gabbi and his team-mates went into game two with only one goal – victory. They completely outdrafted their opponents who clearly had no idea how to counter the Naix-bombs from TNC. Keen gaming tried to take a page out of TNC’s book by doing some ganks but they were completely ineffective. TNC continued to dominate and eventually brought KG to their knees.

Congratulations to SEA powerhouse. This is their second WESG trophy.

3rd place Match

This is probably one of the few events where the match for the 3rd place was actually more interesting than the Grand Final. The two CIS teams went head-to-head in order to determine which one will go home with $100,000.

The first game of the series went in favour of Team Ukraine, even though White-Off had the lead in terms of net worth for most of the game. They decided to get Alchemist, a hero that has recently become more popular after the changes. Unfortunately, Alch is strong only when he has the right timing, something which the Russians could not take advantage of. Slowly but steadily, Ember and Troll from Team Ukraine were able to shift the balance of power and in the end, claim the victory.

A battle between two teams from the same region definitely has a pride element in them. That’s why White-off had no choice but to win the second game of the series.

In order to counter the insane damage output of Ukraine’s lineup, the Russians chose a very tanky setup. Iceberg’s Ursa had a wonderful game, but he was just not enough to deal with DK and Lifestealer. The final fight of the game happened near the top lane. WO had the advantage by getting a quick pick-off but Ramzess was way too strong to be stopped. There was going to be a Game 3.

The Final Game

Team Ukraine decided to get very greedy picks in the face of Alch + Spectre. Usually, those two heroes do not work together, but this game was different. Somehow both of them managed to get the needed farm in order to be effective.

Even then, despite being down by 10k gold, the Russians never gave up. After some crucial fights for them, Ramzess was able to gain a significant advantage on his Morphling. As soon as he got the Aegis, White-Off gathered as 5 and destroyed the enemy barracks. Team Ukraine tried to counter-attack them by using Specter’s ult but it was not efficient.

White-Off deserved to the third spot because they pretty much “threw” the games against TNC. Hopefully, they will learn to have more respect for their enemies.

Beginner’s Gu > 03 Nov 2014 0 Games

Welcome to the first Hero how-to guide in my Beginner’s Guide to Dota 2 series. Today we will cover one of the most iconic and popular Heroes in Dota 2: the mighty Invoker. Invoker ranks with Pudge as arguably the most popular Hero for players to pick in a pub game, the reason for this being that you can show off your impressive Pudge or Invoker skills and win bragging rights. There is nothing more satisfying or publicly impressive as pulling off a fancy Hook or a perfect Tornado / EMP / Chaos Meteor / Deafening Blast combo and wipe the entire enemy team. Before you can do this however, you will need to master the basics and practice, practice, practice….

Invoker is a unique Hero in Dota 2, in that his four key-mapped abilities do not directly correspond to active or passive skills. For other Heroes, the keys Q, W and E activate (when applicable ie. an active skill) the Hero’s basic abilities, and R activates (again when applicable) the Hero’s ultimate ability. For Invoker, Q (for Quas), W (for Wex) and E (for Exort) change the three orbs that float around him. Depending on which three orbs he has currently, pressing R “invokes” a particular skill. The order in which the orbs are summoned does not matter. This makes Invoker the most versatile caster in Dota 2: he has access to a total of 10 skills, as compared to a maximum of four for all other Heroes in Dota 2. Invoker can have two spells invoked at the same time, the older invoked spell being removed once a third spell is invoked.

Without further ado, here are all the spells of the mighty Invoker:

QQQ – Cold Snap. Invoker draws the heat from an enemy, chilling them to their very core for a duration based on Quas. Further damage taken in this state will freeze the enemy again, dealing bonus damage. The enemy can only be frozen so often, but the freeze cooldown decreases based on the level of Quas.

QQW – Ghost Walk. Invoker manipulates the ice and electrical energies around him, rendering his body invisible. The elemental imbalance created as a consequence slows nearby enemies based on the level of Quas, and slows Invoker as well based on the level of Wex.

QQE – Ice Wall. Generates a wall of solid ice directly in front of Invoker for a duration based on the level of Quas. The bitter cold emanating from it greatly slows nearby enemies based on the level of Quas and deals damage each second based on the level of Exort.

WWW – EMP. Invoker builds up a charge of electromagnetic energy at a targeted location which automatically detonates after a duration of 2.9 seconds. The detonation covers an area, draining mana based on the level of Wex. Deals damage for each point of mana drained.

QWW – Tornado. Unleashes a fast moving tornado that picks up enemy units in its path, suspending them helplessly in the air shortly before allowing them to plummet to their doom. Travels further based on the level of Wex. Holds enemies in the air for a duration based on the level of Quas. Deals damage based on the level ofWex.

WWE – Alacrity. Invoker infuses an ally with an immense surge of energy, increasing their attack speed based on the level of Wex and their damage based on the level ofExort.

EEE – Sun Strike. Sends a catastrophic ray of fierce energy from the sun at any targeted location, incinerating all enemies standing beneath it once it reaches the earth. Deals damage based on the level of Exort, however this damage is spread evenly over all enemies hit.

QEE – Forge Spirit. Invoker forges a spirit embodying the strength of fire and fortitude of ice. Damage, health, and armor are based on the level of Exort while attack range, mana, and duration are based on the level ofQuas. The elemental’s scorching attack is capable of melting the armor of enemy heroes. If both Quas andExort are level 4 or higher, Invoker will create two spirits instead of one.

WEE – Chaos Meteor. Invoker pulls a flaming meteor from space onto the targeted location. Upon landing, the meteor rolls forward, constantly dealing damage based on the level of Exort, and rolling further based on the level ofWex. Units hit by the meteor will also be set on fire for a short time, receiving additional damage based on the level of Exort.

QWE – Deafening Blast. Invoker unleashes a mighty sonic wave in front of him, dealing damage to any enemy unit it collides based on the level of Exort. The sheer impact from the blast is enough to knock those enemy units back for a duration based on the level of Quas, then disarm their attacks for a duration based on the level of Wex.
