The bleeding heart of Dota 2; An op-ed on the tier 2 woes

The Dota 2 scene is starting to bleed out, wounded from being severed from the top half of the scene, dying from the lack of nutrition to grow.

The latest victim is one of the unlikeliest scenarios, one that probably no-one could have predicted. Just weeks before TI9, the North American qualified team, Forward Gaming, has dropped their Dota 2 team.

Forward Gaming picked up a Dota 2 team in September 2018 and was based out of New York, convenient since the team was originally living there. The org was newly established, with Dota 2 being their first esports adventure. An extensive blog revealed how the Venture Capitalist group decided to get involved in the industry and why they chose Dota 2 to begin with.

While mismanagement of funds and resources could be a real factor, it is not without reason to conclude that a reason for their financial problems could stem from the current scene of Dota 2 not aligning with their initial projections and potential.

I also regret to inform that we have to close the company with the debt remaining owed to the players. Due to insufficient financial results we are unable to cover players’ salaries for July as well as $36,000 of players’ share of prize money (which was used to partly cover June’s salary).

A team headed for TI9 and the organization still chose to let their roster go, rather than ride out the next month and seize the possible assets and momentum going into the new season with a revitalized start and bank account.

That is simply because, the money – the sponsors and the various tournament prizes – aren’t there to be had unless you are part of the elite, top teams.

Since the creation of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) system, the tier 2 scene has been quickly declining, each year worse than the previous one with those complaints outlined in an earlier exclusive feature for the site. The most prominent complaint? The lack of financial sustainability for the tier 2 teams and players, which then bleeds into the overall health and development of the scene.

This entire thread by LD is a very articulate expression of the ecosystem right now.

It is easily supported by cases where payments are delayed or completely withheld by organizations –

By cases where the stability of a team all season was rewarded with nothing –

And in cases where players just can’t get their feet off the ground such as with Polish player and captain Rafał “eL lisasH” Wójcik who opened up in a very candid post about the realities that were created for semi-professionals aspiring to become professionals this year:

My point is there were places to build solid team and fundaments, you wanted to stay together because u had your org that paid you 500 euros and you had your tournaments where you could win 2500 euro for first place so you wanted to play it along with playing rankeds, and then if you are good and played with each other long enough you could make a good team and compete with better teams and this happened to us. (. )Situation now is miserable, people dont really want to invest time into playing in teams because they know that there are low chances of qualifaing to anything with new formed stack and they rather play matchmaking and get high rank. If people accept to play in a team, they play open qualifer together, they win – okey they play closeds – they lose – they disband immediately. When a team play closeds team most likely wont qualify to anything and later on they will disband becasue playing ONLY scrims together for 1,5 month is really bullshit concept.

All have one very large thing in common – tier 2 players/teams are unable to gain the financial support needed to continue making a living off of Dota 2, and as Will Partin has pointed out in a very eye-opening piece one year ago, The International Is Bad For Dota 2.

How can such poverty exist in a scene with a $20 million tournament? Because unregulated markets in esports tend to do what unregulated markets do everywhere: push wealth to a smaller and smaller number of people, not necessarily as a result of merit, but due to structural advantage. Stories like SmasH’s and Rave’s poke holes in the idea that Dota 2 is a perfect meritocracy, and even call into question the scene’s competitive integrity. As Huisman rightly wonders: “How much does it really mean to be a good team if all your opponents need a day job to survive?”

Suffice it to say, the writing has been on the wall for some time and the players have been coming out to voice their concerns. Now it will be a matter of how much Valve will listen to them and be able to appropriately adjust the upcoming DPC season to address the issues.

As Partin showed in his work, there are possibilities to fix the ecosystem, including suggestions by Peter “PPD” Dager and compLexity coach/professional analysist Muriel “Kips” Huisman.

Fixing Dota 2’s problems wouldn’t have to mean doing away with The International. In fact, the most effective tool Valve has to better regulate Dota 2 is the The International, which could break the cycles it currently perpetuates. Valve could consider earmarking crowdfunding from The International for future use, funneling it to smaller tournaments, like Peter “PPD” Dager’s newly-announced North American Dota Challenger League. (Blizzard used a similar strategy to revive StarCraft II’s flagging esports scene. Crowdfunded “War Chests” not only increase the prize pool of premier tournaments, but set money aside for smaller ones as well). Valve could also redesign the prize spread of The International to support teams that get eliminated early, or even those that came close to qualifying but did not. A million or so dollars taken from the top of the prize pool means a lot less to the winners (who, in all likelihood, can fall back on a handsome salary anyway). But for smaller organizations, that chunk of cash could put a roof over players’ heads, food on their plates, and fund practice hours for most of the year. It might even reinvigorate a game that is starting to flag. Earlier this year, Huisman suggested a better cycle for the scene: “more players who can afford to take a year off and focus on Dota 2 -> new talent -> a professional environment for them to develop and train -> higher quality of play and competition -> higher engagement of Dota players w/ pro scene.”

This Week in Hearthstone – RNGesus Himself!

The cards continue to roll out, and this week we received the final Old God. Boy is he a doozey. Three weeks remain until the new set is launched, and so far the cards look pretty great. This week’s announced cards are really good, probably the best week for the set so far. Here goes:

Choose one cards will always be good. This is no exception. Either you Innervate it out for consistent ramp, or you play it to get to your massive cards a bit faster, or you simply create a 5/5 body for four mana. Dota 2 rngesus prayer hearthstone In no scenario is this card bad. I think this card will be a staple of Druid in the upcoming years.

This card is amazing, if you are able to play it. For eight mana and only one card you get a 5/2 with charge, a 5/4 with taunt, and a 2/4. That’s 21 points of stats for eight mana. Dota 2 rngesus prayer hearthstone If the meta gets to a place where Control or even Midrange Hunter is good, then this card will be played in every single deck, it’s incredible for its value. The only fear is that it doesn’t fit in Face Hunter, and right now that’s the only super viable Hunter deck. We’ll have to see if that changes.

Great card. A solid 5/5 with taunt for six mana is fringe playable, when you add in the fact that its cost will have gone down in almost every scenario, it becomes insane. A 5/5 with taunt for five is good, for four it’s insane, for anything less it’s almost game-breakingly good. The fact that it doesn’t even have Overload makes this card insane. Shaman will be good in the upcoming months.

This card is very strong. At first glance it’s not great when compared to other weapons, but then you have to realize that Death’s Bite is cycling out of Standard. Also, the fact that they printed a five mana Shaman weapon makes me believe strongly that Doomhammer will be nerfed – especially considering how strong Aggro Shaman is at the moment. This card will be a good replacement for a Midrange/Control Shaman deck who is looking for great value, which this card has in spades.

This is probably my favourite card printed from the new set. Recombobulator is pretty good in a lot of scenarios, since it effectively heals your minion as well as giving the potential for value off a minion that had a Battlecry already go off. This card is just strictly better. The best stats for a four mana card, as well as not only healing but potentially buffing your minions. It also comes down one turn after Tuskarr Totemic, which is a strong three mana card because of its Battlecry, but has poor stats. If this card isn’t an auto-include in almost every Shaman deck, I’ll eat my hat.

Season 10 Preseason is Here!

One thing I love about this set is that the cards that include incredibly strong and unpredictable RNG effects are not incredibly playable. Meaning we won’t have games decided by cards like Shredder nearly every game. This card is no exception. A fun card, maybe something you’ll pull off a random ability and use as a last ditch Hail Marry, but not great in any sense. You know we’ll see a ton of videos of people playing this against a board of 1/1s and hitting themselves in the face nine times.

This card is actually really good. It’s a seven mana 7/7, which is decent stats for the cost and fills a void in Handlock/Control Warlock decks who were never super happy about playing Dr. Boom. The best scenario I see for this card is playing it and then playing Siphon Soul, killing an opponent’s creature for three health and no mana. Dota 2 rngesus prayer hearthstone Obviously you’ll lose a card as well, but since Warlocks typically have those in spades, I see this card being an auto-include in any non-Zoo deck.

Good card. Good stat line, good effect. It deals with small boards very effectively, and it provides another whirlwind effect for a deck that just lost Death’s Bite. This seems like a more reliable Unstable Ghoul, the only downside is that you can’t store the whirlwind effect in play. I will expect this to see quite a bit of play, especially if aggressive decks remain dominant.

This card was released in a video calling it really bad. I think that’s being far too harsh. Grim Patron decks make a lot of duplicates for only a few cards, but they are susceptible to board clear effects. However, if you are able to create a few copies and then use Blood Warriors, you suddenly have two or three more Grim Patrons in your hand, and they are forced to either save their removal or have tons of different board clears. I think this will find a place in Patron decks, the value is simply too strong to overlook, especially considering it creates cards rather than drawing them, so it doesn’t put you closer to fatigue.

Oh my goodness. Well… here’s The Ancient One!

Okay, first off, these cards aren’t great. That doesn’t mean they aren’t really cool. As Ben Brode said, these were created to see neat deckbuilding opportunities, and in order to allow players to experience really cool moments. It was never intended for competitive play. Given that they said this upfront, this card is so cool, and I can’t wait to see the videos of people pulling it off!

Wow. Did I mention RNGesus? Yeah, this is him. It’s hard to even review a card like this. Obviously he won’t be played competitively (at least more than here and there in Casino Mage decks), but this card is going to create some of the coolest games you’ve ever played. Oh look, you buffed your Yogg-Saron with a few buff spells! Oh, you just Assassinated him too. Oops. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see the many many videos which come out of this card! I know I’ll definitely try him out, for fun if nothing else.

Cheats in Dota 2 do exist – NS tested them

NS raised the public awareness on a not-yet widespread issue affecting Dota 2: Cheats. For a cheap monthly price everyone could boost their gameplay.

Yaroslav Vladimirovich “NS” Kuznetsov is a retired Dota player who started competing in 2006. His career ended in August 2014, and in the last two years he played for Virtus. pro as a position 4. Currently, NS works for RuHub as a caster and analyst – he is famous in the Russian community for his video analysis and guides.

“ I made this video out of sheer curiosity, desire to research, experiment, and to draw public attention to this problem. It’s not aimed to advertise cheat softwares, so you won’t find any download link here.

Dota 2 always stood out among other games, because it had no cheats, so the competition here was truly fair. But after watching all this, how can you be sure that cheaters aren’t playing with you in every match? How can we be sure that semi-pros or even top-tier pro players don’t use the same cheats when they play official matches from home? We just can’t.

I am sounding the alarm and encourage my fans to share this information. It must reach people at Valve, and they have to. no, they NEED to take action. ”

Note: English subs available

Note: English subs available

No VAC bans issued

NS bought one of the Dota 2 hacks, which has a cost of $9 monthly. He tried the cheats in pubs, but he didn’t use his primary account neither he played in ranked. Overall, he used them for two days and in less than ten matches.

The developers of the cheat assure that no user has been banned so far because their software “freezes” the VAC module. NS received no ban and he also noticed no complaints regarding bans in the official forum.

Hero-specific cheats

There are many cheats that boost your gameplay when playing specific heroes, here are some examples:

Invoker auto-casting tool is useful versus a single target, but the software has problems when dealing against multiple opponents. Overall, an experienced Invoker doesn’t need it, but it will transform every newbie in a decent player.

Pudge auto-hook works quite well. Simply pressing a button it automatically hooks the closest hero. Sometimes it has issues, but overall it greatly enhances your gameplay as you can hook even heroes in the Fog of War. You do not need to face the hero or even move your mouse cursor at all.

Io has a tool that automatically collides all summoned spirits against a target, and it works flawlessly.

Techies’ mines auto-kill enemies passing nearby.

NS points out that these cheats are mediocre for an experienced player, but the general game cheats can really make a difference even at a pro level.

General cheats

A short summary of some functions showed in the video:

You can see the mana bar of the opponents and the cooldown timer of their skills.

When using a Soul Ring, the software automatically drops the Arcane Boots on the ground, picking them up shortly after. Everything is done at such a speed that you can barely notice it from the video.

You can maximize the camera distance and draw a circle around your hero. Very useful to have a better vision of your surroundings, evade ganks, stay at the maximum and safest distance from creeps while gaining experience, and more. For example, with Lone Druid you can always remain at the optimal distance from the Spirit Bear while he is attacking the target.

The auto-pickup rune tool is unbeatable. He tested it multiple times, and it is almost impossible for the opponent to snatch the rune.

If you have an item such as the Orchid Malevolence of the Scythe of Vyse, the cheat automatically uses them on any opponent attempting to cast a crowd control spell (stun, root, silence, disarm, etc). He tested them against an Enigma, and he could never use his Black Hole. The cheat doesn’t work if the opponent is affected by invisibility.

It shows spells you are not supposed to see, such as Spirit Breaker’s Charge of Darkness, Kunkka’s Torrent, and the trajectory of Mirana’s Sacred Arrow. Fortunately, it doesn’t work with all spells – for example, it doesn’t detect Invoker’s Sun Strike.

We know that queue times have increased across the board recently, and the most significant factor contributing to this has been the stricter requirements that Ranked Roles imposes on the formation of matches. Prior to the introduction of Ranked Roles, the matchmaker had a wider pool of people to draw upon because of the few restrictions. In the past, when one or more players desired the same role, this conflict was resolved during the game itself, often with unpleasant results. This conflict is now resolved at queue time, but a price of this is that the matchmaker is often starved for players in the least-queued roles. The matchmaker must wait for players in the desired roles to enter the queue, or form sub-optimal matches with the players currently in queue to satisfy all role requirements. Usually the role most in demand by the matchmaker is Hard Support, but this is not always the case, and historically this has varied based on time of day, skill bracket, region, etc.

To address role imbalance more generally, today’s update introduces Fast Queue for Ranked matchmaking. Players in the Fast Queue are given priority by the matchmaker, and will find matches much more quickly. In order to earn games for Fast Queue, you must elect to play with all roles selected. Playing with all roles selected will also automatically place you in Fast Queue for free.

When playing solo with all roles selected, you will earn four more games for future use in the Fast Queue. When grouped as a party, players can also earn Fast Queue games if the party fulfills all roles between its players. Two-player parties earn 2 games each, three-player parties earn 1 game each. You can earn and store up to 60 Fast Queue games.

For example, if you are in a party of two where one player marks the three Core roles and the other marks the two Support roles, they will enter the Fast Queue for free, and will each be awarded two additional Fast Queue games. Parties of 5 will always enter the Fast Queue for free, but do not earn Fast Queue games. We’ve added new UI to make it easy to see to understand when you or your party is eligible for Fast Queue.

Our data clearly showed that players choosing roles without any additional constraints simply doesn’t result in enough role diversity for the matchmaking population to be healthy, negatively affecting both queue times and match quality. The motivation of the Fast Queue is to solve the “roll for mid” problem in a structured way that prevents in-game conflicts, while also providing enough role diversity to enable reasonable queue times.

Going forward, our immediate focus will be validating that Fast Queue is doing enough to improve health of the matchmaking pool, and tweaking as necessary. We’ll also be rolling out a small incremental update to the behavior and report system in the coming weeks. As always, please continue to give us feedback. We appreciate your patience thus far as we iterate on matchmaking.

Bloodseeker Gu > Posted on April 27, 2017 by Harry Twog

Hello and good afternoon guys, welcome back to my website. This day I want to share you an article about Bloodseeker guide dota 2 hero. Well, this hero is quite unique because this hero will regen some health every time he kills an enemy. This hero also has zero mana skill that can be used to increase his damage against the enemies with low health point. Well, to know more about this hero, let us talk about this hero more today.

Bloodseeker Guide, Kill and Win The Game

Well, there is only one obstacle to winning this game and it’s to crush the enemies throne with every way that possible to do. Yeah, you are even allowed to do dirty tricks like ganking, back door, “rats”, split push, and so many dirty tricks that available and not breaking the rules.

Well if you have been played this hero before, you must know this hero is very tricky. Why do I say this hero is tricky? Because this hero can use his Q skill as his main weapon to do some “Jungling” at the early game. Equipped with his 3rd skill to smell people who get wounded. Bloodseeker will chase down every enemy who try to run away from him. Yeah, to make this hero powerful, you only need to make some few minor item as your Bloodseeker item build, because this hero is powerful even in the early game.

Bloodseeker Counter Picks

Even tough this hero is very powerful in the early phase game. This hero can be countered by a few simple heroes that can give burst damage and expose his weakness. Lion can be Bloodseeker counter because his ultimate skill “Finger Of Death” will cause more than 500 magical damage that will bring down Bloodseeker in no time, this hero also has Hex skill that can turn Bloodseeker into a frog for a few seconds.

Keeper Of The Light also can harsh this hero with burst damage from his Q skill. Keeper Of The Light can also stop his movement with his Mana Leak skill. Well, if you unlucky enough to meet Bloodseeker with the wrong hero, you can try to fasten your item and try to build Lotus Orb. Why Lotus? Because this item can reflect the ultimate from Bloodseeker that will give you more chance to run away from him

Tips To Hold Bloodseeker

Well, I think as long as your team routine to do ganking and your support doing their job properly. I believe it’s easy to take down Bloodseeker because this is one on one hero and can’t fight back if he gets surrounded by enemies. However, this tricks also requiring so much team works and patient. Your map awareness also tested when you fight this hero. So, what will you do to fight this hero? Will you give up in the early game? Will you try to fight him back?

Thanks for reading my article today about Bloodseeker guide. If you think my guide is useful enough for you and can be used to fight any other Bloodseeker player, please share my article with the other Dota 2 player. Thanks for coming and reading my website today. I really hope you will get something to learn from my website and have a nice day guys.

Chrome Remote Desktop (available also on Apple devices) and Moonlight Game Streaming (it requires a Nvidia graphic card) are also viable options, but I have not tried them because Steam Link works great and it’s very easy to set up.

How to play TFT with Steam Link

Open Steam and click Add a Game on the bottom left.

Add League of Legends into your Steam Library as a non-Steam game.

If you can’t find League of Legends in the Program list, click Browse… and select LeagueClient. exe at the following path: Your Drive > Riot Games > League of Legends

Launch League of Legends from the Steam Library. You can also create a desktop shortcut.

Install Steam Link on your Android or iOS device.

Connect your phone/tablet to Steam app on your PC.

Steam Link will ask you to input a verification code, select your controller (you can use your touch screen or an external controller), and finally it will run a network speed test.

On your PC, click on the Teamfight Tactics client, and it will appear full-screen on your mobile device.

Input mode and command layout

For ease of use, I suggest configuring the input mode in this way:

On your tablet, click the icon on the top left to select the input mode.

Disable Controller Touch on the left side of the menu.

Enable Direct Cursor on the right side of the menu.

Click ok to save the settings.

This is the list of the commands in this mode.

Mouse Left Click: 1-finger tap.

Mouse Right Click: 2-finger tap.

Keyboard: 3-finger tap.

Zoom/Drag the game: Pinch/Drag with 2 fingers.

In Teamfight Tactics, use Right Click to move your Little Legends during the Carousel stage and on the battlefield.

Use Left Click to buy champions from the store, to place items, and to swap champions on the bench/battlefield.

After placing a unit on the battlefield with Left Click, you must use Right Click on the screen to deselect it, and then you will be able to use again Left Click to place another unit. You will require some time to get used to it, but AFAIK this is the most comfortable layout.

Below, a few photos of the game on my tablet (Yep, the creeps damaged me; I was takings pics :P!) The last image is zoomed in.

Mobile test device

I have tested a few TFT games on my tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, and it worked flawlessly.

My PC is connected via WiFi with a speed of 175/234 Mbps, and it is placed at about three rooms of distance from the WiFi extender.

On the tablet (tested in the same room where the PC is located) Steam Link detected a speed of 55 Mbps, which was enough to play with a solid 80/90 ms delay on average

The game was fluid and the tablet didn’t run hot (we are basically streaming the game, so it doesn’t consume many resources). Each game spent about 8-10% of battery.

Notes on Steam Link

Your PC must be on all the time in order to stream the game, but you can turn off the monitor.

The PC and the tablet can also use a different internet connection. For example, you can run the game on your WiFi at home, then go outside and play on the tablet via your mobile connection.

Khronos and Valve reveal details of Vulkan API, show Dota 2 running in Source 2 on Intel integrated graphics

Update 16th February, 2016: Vulkan 1.0 has been released. You can download a beta driver for both AMD and NVIDIA drivers right now, and try it out on The Talos Principle.

The Khronos Group have revealed the details of Vulkan, their new graphics API that will replace OpenGL in the near future, in a talk at GDC earlier today. What’s striking is that, despite being referred to as “Next Generation OpenGL” for quite some time, Vulkan is in a fact an entirely new API that shares absolutely nothing with OpenGL.

It is, however, a descendant of AMD’s Mantle API, which the videocard manufacturerstepped-away fromat the start of this week.

Vulkan is based on Mantle’s specifications, according to Khronos Group. AMD shared their information with Khronos and let them effectively take over the work of creating a new, low-level graphics API. Mantle had already proven that this kind of API would work on PC, and that it no longer made sense to continue paying the high driver-overhead of earlier versions of DirectX (something that Microsoft appeared to agree with when they built DirectX 12).

But what makes Vulkan different is that it is not controlled by a single platform holder. It will work across all platforms, desktop and mobile, according to Khronos. One of the goals for Vulkan was to avoid an onslaught of platform or vendor-specific APIs. Already, EA have said they are moving their Mantle renderer for Frostbite over to Vulkan.

Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais also spoke at the session, explaining why Vulkan was so important to Valve’s plans for the future.

Conceding that developers would have to be more careful due to the lack of error-management that DirectX used to provide, he explained that Valve were very bullish on Vulkan’s prospects and already support it with Source 2, and it will be supported across the board on Steam Machines.

Valve also demoed Dota 2 running in Source 2 on Vulkan, using Intel’s integrated graphics. This was something we’d had hints of before, but seeing it in action was something else. You’ll have to make do with this cell-phone capture for now, however.

Even more exciting, a Dan Baker from Oxide took the stage and said that, under Vulkan, there is currently no GPU available that will max-out the CPU. By solving the CPU bottleneck and spreading the driver load over multiple cores, current GPUs won’t have the sync problems they had under DirectX.

“Until the GPU manufacturers get their act together and make GPUs ten times faster than we have now, we can’t max out the CPU,” he said.

Those are some bold words. Bolder, even, than we’ve been hearing about DirectX. That’s going to be music to the ears of graphics card manufacturers, though, who might finally be able show the kind of massive increases that will drive a surge in new hardware sales. On the other hand, seeing Dota 2 running so well on Intel integrated graphics is probably also a bit scary for the likes of AMD and Nvidia. Valve dota 2 api urban

Still, it likely means faster, prettier games for those of us playing along at home, even if it does mean more work for the developers making them.

As Valve’s John McDonald said, “We’re asking you to juggle chainsaws, but in exchange, we’ll give you peak performance.”

Suggested Dota 2 Hotkeys for an Easy Microing.

Watch videos, see images and read content below for more details.

In Dota 2 we can change the default keys and hotkeys of our personal keys by just going to to settings menu. The default keys of abilities is in legacy mode. The legacy keys is the default key of Dota 1, if you are not familiar or particular in ability keys of Dota 1 and you find the legacy keys difficult then you can switch it to QWER mode or keys. QWER keys is easier compare to legacy keys. As you can see it in your keyboard, QWER is right below the number buttons and it is just in 1 row. Q is for your first skill, W is for second skill, E is for third skill and R is for your ultimate skill. QWER keys will automatically apply to all heroes once you have enabled it. If an ability of an hero exceed to 4 keys, then keys F, T,C and D will be added automatically. QWER keys is the best and suggested ability hotkey for Dota beginners. Some of my friends switches to QWER keys even though they have used Legacy keys for more than 2 or 3 years already .

Select All Other Summoned Units

My hotkey for my other summoned units is “space” or space bar. I assigned it in space bar so that it will be so easy when I switch control to other summoned units. Before I have assigned hotkey to space, space bar has a default function of showing recent event of the match and I think it is not necessary nor important to be in a key modifier so I assigned space bar to “select all other summoned units”. Most players usually use hotkeys and micro more often in playing Dota 2 especially if your hero has summoning ability so space bar is a good hotkey for switching to other summoned units by just using your left hand’s thumb. However switching to some other summoned units is still the default key which is the “tab” key.

Hold Hero

I have also changed my “Hold” or “Stop” key, the default key for “Hold hero” was “H” and “H” is a little far from your fingers so I changed “H” to “Caps lock”. Caps lock has no function key in Dota 2 game anyway, so when holding your hero is made easy since “caps lock” key is just right above the shift key. Shift key has a function of queuing an ability to cast or queuing a hero move in game and I use “Shift” key more often in game because it is very useful in queuing an ability or skill.

Inventory Hotkeys

Setting my inventory hotkeys to Alt+key. It is Alt+Q, Alt+W, Alt+E on my top 3 inventory slot and Alt+A, Alt+S and Alt+D on the bottom 3 of my inventory slot. However most of professional Dota 2 players don’t use this Alt+key hotkey because of the cast delay of using it in crucial situations. You have to press 2 buttons in order to activate an inventory item, by using your thumb and other fingers is a hassle in activating an item.

Most of the gaming shop in the Philippines don’t have a gaming hardware like gaming keyboard and gaming mouse so most Pinoy players had set their inventory hotkeys to “Alt+Key” or other, unlike if you have a gaming mouse you can set your inventory hotkeys to mouse 1, mouse 2, mouse 3 ot mouse 4 for an easier access to the buttons.

Ability Learn

My Ability learn or level stat upgrade is set to key 3 because when you are in the middle of team fight and you just leveled up, you can easily press the number 3 then press your desired skill in which you want to upgrade. The number 3 button is reachable from where your left hand is positioned while you are playing.

Option Menu

In other option menu there are also options which you can enable it by just checking it in option settings. For me, the lists below are a must enabled option.

Auto Attack – This will allow your hero to automatically attack every enemy units in your range and near sight.

Double Tap Ability Self Cast – You will be able to cast your ability to your hero by just double tapping the ability key.

Teleport Requires Stop – This must be enabled to avoid accidental stopping of your teleport channeling because while teleport channeling you should not right click on any area of the map or press or cast an ability, when you accidentally right click on a random location it will interrupt or cancel your teleport channeling and just wasted 100 golds for the portal scroll.

Show Hit Points Over Player Health Bar – This should also enabled, with the hit points showing over your healthbar or enemy’s healthbar you can determine if how many health or hit points you have or your enemy have. Whether you can kill your enemy in 1 hit or not.

Video Settings

Game Screen Render Quality

This video settings is helpful for slow computers. Textures and shadow quality must be in “Low” in order to avoid game lags.

Note: Some game settings will not take effect immediately so I advice you to restart your Dota 2 after some changes.
