Turkish [ edit ]

Requesting Turkish to be added to the language list. Dota’s Turkish fanbase is very large, Steam supports Turkish and the game will be translated simultaneously with other languages. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Acdervis (talk) • (contribs) • Please sign your posts with

Done I’ve been told it’s at 100% with STS translations so far, so I’ve no reason to think it won’t end up in-game. RJackson 19:49, 12 October 2011 (CDT)

I can’t see Turkish on the main page anymore after you guys have updated it. Could you please add it back? –Esat 17:11, 29 October 2011 (CDT)

The main page languages bar was very outdated. I’ve just updated it now. – RJ 06:24, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Is it possible we get back Turkish as a supported language back please? –Elsewiir3 (talk) 21:30, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

No chance. It’s simply too inactive and has too little traffic. There are not enough people to maintain it. Look at the german wiki for reference. It was 4th most “active” wiki, but its removal is already planned as well, because it’s simply not active enough.

I completely understand why you wouldn’t want to re-open it but isn’t having outdated resources and knowledge is better than having none? Because there is literally no source for Turkish community.–Elsewiir3 (talk) 00:19, 24 September 2018 (UTC)

Main page index, change “Tournaments” to “Competitive scene” [ edit ]

The index-6-link and index-6-text parameters need updating, changing “Tournaments” to “Competitive scene”, on your guys main pages (e. g. Dota 2 Wiki/fr). I could change the links myself, but that’d leave the translated text being misleading so I’ll leave it for you guys. – RJ 06:24, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

I’ve changed everything into english. i. e. “Competitive Scene” so its easier for people to notice the need for translation. Redefining history 04:32, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Part 8: Russian Swear Words – Russian language tutorial and phrasebook

The main thing about swearing in Russian is the attitude. If you haven’t got the right attitude, using swear words can be very dangerous in Russia. Russian dota 2 phrases in latin There’s a very good word in Russian called “bychit’” (“бычить”) – it means to behave oneself like a bull. That’s what you should be doing. You should always have a concrete physical feeling of crawling on top of something and hitting it very hard with your head. You can tilt your head down, raise your eyebrows, and open your eyes wide open.

Games like Dota 2 (the Best MOBA games)

You might got bored of Dota 2 or just want to try some other similar MOBA game (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games) then this guide is for you, I’m going to list some of the most popular games like Dota 2 in this post, and I hope you find some game that suits your taste in games. I will list both free MOBA games and paid game too, so what ever you feel like playing I’m sure we can find a game for you.

In the past years these MOBA games has risen in popularity and millions of players are loving this new genre of games, we’re a long way from the beginning of MOBA games with games like Aeon of Strife (AoS) on Starcraft and DotA 1 on Warcraft 3, a long time has passed and these games have improved a lot, the graphics are more refined, the controls are perfect, you have more options and heroes to play and the MOBA games of today are balanced.

League of Legends (LoL)

MOBA smiliar to Dota 2

The biggest and most popular MOBA game of them all is probably Leauge of Legends with their huge player base and e-sport community with professional leagues and tournaments with huge cash prizes. LoL is similar to Dota 2 in many ways, they’re both these two standard MOBA games that are very well made with a huge amount of heroes to play, and a great match-finding system, good balance between heroes.

Both of these games are free but the main difference between these two games is that in Dota 2 you have access to all the heroes but in League of Legends you either have to unlock the heroes with points or real cash, this can be really frustrating for a new player who wants to try all the different heroes, but LoL let’s you try out new heroes for free each and every week so it’s not like you have no heroes to play, it’s just that it can be a bit limited if you compare with MOBA games like Dota 2.

League of Legends Trailer

Heroes of Newerth (HoN)

Standard MOBA like LoL & Dota 2

Heroes of Newerth is yet another great MOBA game, but don’t expect to be blown away with features that LoL and Dota 2 doesn’t have, don’t get me wrong HoN is a great game but it is very similar to both Dota 2 and especially League of Legends, and that doesn’t have to be a bad thing, it’s still a solid and great game, and you can expect to have a lot of fun if you decide to choose this game. The game has all the features you would expect from a MOBA game, it’s lag free, cheat protection, match-making, built in ladders and rank system, also the graphics is probably the best in any MOBA game out there, the only one who can really compete with HoN on that is Dota 2.

Heroes of Newerth is free to play and have a similar system of optional paying like League of Legends.

Bloodline Champions

Fast and Action filled MOBA

From Funcom and Stunlock Studios comes the very unique and fun MOBA game Bloodline Champions. This game think it’s important that the game is all about your skill, meaning that there is no random elements that you can see in some MOBA games, like for example random critical hits, dodges and events like that. The game modes in this game are a bit different, it’s not your typical lane fights with mobs running down it, instead we have game modes like deathmatch, capture the flag and conquest, these are modes we’re familiar with in other game genres but not in MOBA games and that’s what makes this game interesting, it’s Stunlock Studios take on what they think a good MOBA game should be like, and this mindset makes a pretty damn good game that’s far from a Dota clone, which is refreshing.

In Bloodline Champions you don’t have any mana like most games have, instead it’s all about cooldown on your skills and how you use them, all cooldowns are relatively short, making the combat filled with action. This game is a action filled MOBA game that isn’t like other games, it’s fast paced and filled with a lot of action.

Bloodline Champions are free to play and you can download it and play it though Steam if you want to.

More information about the game can be found at the official website over here. Bloodline Champions Official Website (free)

MOBA game for your mobile

This next game is not the best game on the list, it doesn’t have the best graphics and the controls are a bit tricky, but there’s a reason for that, and that is because this is a MOBA game for mobile devices (both Android and iOS) MOBA games has even come to our mobiles now, and this little game is perfect if you want to play a MOBA game on the buss or when you’re out and you get a bit bored. The game is for free so it’s worth a try if this sounds like something for you.
Just don’t expect this game to be that similar to Dota 2, think a light and mobile version of Dota, you’re going to get a few hours of free fun.

Hi, I am moving to work in China. Dota 2 shipping jiaoyi jishin Can I still connect to Dota 2 servers and steam there? How is it done?

I heard something about “Perfect World” which is the platform Dota 2 is played in China, but not exactly sure what I need to do, a google search and reddit search just confused me more.

Could someone that knows give me a good explanation please? Perhaps some other expat like myself moving there for work.

Of course you will be able to play DOTA there. The Chinese client is the biggest market for DOTA. So big in fact, that as you mentioned, in order to abide by the standards set by the economic legislation of specific countries, Valve opted to contract with nationally-based developers for publishing. Thus, Perfect World (A Beijing video game developer), announced the acquisition of the exclusive rights to publish and distribute Dota 2 in China. Dota 2 shipping jiaoyi jishin You will be able to sync your steam account to the PW servers without losing any of your cosmetics or stats

Hey, thanks for the info, buddy. Do I need to install a new game client or something? My research on reddit found people stating all sorts of problems.

Can I use my existing computer with all the software loaded and just change some settings?

I really don’t want the game to play the game on a Chinese language client.

Nope you won’t need to install a new client

You just need to link your perfect world account with your Dota2/Steam account.

1) Go to http://members. dota2.com. cn/login to start registering your Perfect World account
Fill up the register form and get your confirmation code through email

2) Now you have a PW account and it shows that you have not yet linked dota2/steam account
Launch your dota2 with parameters, – perfectworld for perfectworld version and – language schinese for simplified chinese UI if u need. In addition, language in dota 2 here determines your in-game voice language, so far 3 languages available and you may need to download additional voice packs.
Launch and you’ll see different screens, start linking process, and click play. Your Chinese/PerfectWorld dota2 is now activated.

Biography [ edit ]

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Dendi got an early start with competitive gaming in net cafes when his elder brother married, moved out and took the family’s PC with him. Dabbling with Counter-Strike first, he soon found Warcraft 3 where he played in local tournaments and built a love for the competition and a thirst to be the best. Though he was quite successful in Warcraft 3 and even won a few local championships in Lviv, he knew he had found his calling when he stumbled upon DotA. He picked up the game quickly and played it almost exclusively over the next few months.

Beginning with learning only supports, he practiced heavily and was quickly vouched to the IHCS1 league and soon created his own team for tournaments in Lviv. After he led his team to a championship in Kiev, he was drafted by a team called “Wolker. Gaming” and began his professional career at 17.

DotA [ edit ]

Dendi started playing professionally with WG in 2006. [1] He was a part of the Ukrainian squad that finished third in MYM Prime Nations the same year. Only a few months later WG made it to the grand final of one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time; MYM Prime Defending. [2] When Kingsurf. international merged with WG the next year he became a full-time member of Ks. int. [1] In late 2008 he joined DTS, only to return to Ks. int in March 2009. [3] Three months later though, Dendi returned to DTS. [4] The team would end up finishing 2nd at ESWC 2010. At the end of 2010, Dendi and DTS finished 3rd at the prestigious WDC 2010. [5] Dendi joined Natus Vincere at the end of 2010. [6]

Dota 2 [ edit ]

Dendi started his Dota 2 career with Na’Vi, who quickly established themselves as one of the best teams in the world by winning The International 2011. Na’Vi continued to dominate and won many tournaments in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. Dendi was the center of Na’Vi’s consistent stable and skilled rosters, with his performance greatly contributing to their success.

The Natus Vincere Dota 2 team achieved significant success with Dendi as their midlaner during the first few years of the game; they finished as the runners-up for both The International 2012 and The International 2013, losing out to Invictus Gaming and Alliance, respectively. 2013 would mark the last year of Na’Vi and Dendi’s dominance in the Dota 2 scene, as they only recorded two LAN victories since January 2014. The International 2014 saw Na’Vi and Dendi finishing the tournament outside of the top 2 for the first time and the following two Internationals, TI 5 and TI 6, they would finish in last place. The results would deteriorate further, as they would fail to even qualify for The International 2017, they failed to advance out of the group stage of the regional qualifiers. This marked the first year of The International tournaments without Dendi attending as a player. The 2017/18 season started of promising for Dendi and Na’Vi, who dominated the CIS scene in the early months, crowning their improving results with their second LAN victory since 2014. However, the second half of the season saw the roster break apart and finally the team would fail to even reach the regional qualifiers for The International 2018, after losing in the open qualifier.

Four years of roster instability and poor results finally took their toll on the reputation of the Na’Vi organization and on Dendi’s status as a legendary player and a top tier midlaner. After 8 years playing mid on Na’Vi, Dendi was finally removed from the active roster in September 2018. However, Dendi vowed to continue playing professionally. After a brief stint on Tigers, Dendi joined The Pango.

Dota 2 Drow Force Staff Midgame Build Guide by innovatingdrow

I am 4900-5100 mmr player with Drow as my favourite hero. Today I will be bringing you a hidden op way to play drow, which is Force staff drow build. This is not troll/joke post, it actually works. I will describe how.

When I say it is “hidden” op, I mean people will go “wtf drow force staff??”, even at my mmr and that is because it is unusual. However, if you think about it, you will realise it makes a lot of sense.

The “Why” of Force-centric build

Drow Ranger is a very different type of carry compared to your usual “hard” carries. Her stat gain is totally shit, at 1.9 agi per level. This means all of her power comes from her ult, which gives shitton of agi. However, this +agi gets turned off if anyone is inside your 400 aoe. Therefore it is very important that you position yourself so you are always hitting at 400+ range.

Also, Drow is not really a hard carry exactly because of this reason. At later game, smart opponents will buy blink/hex/abyssal blade, and your bkb will eventually go down to 4 sec. This means you will start to lose impact lategame because, unlike gyro/luna/spec etc, you have zero aoe, which means your autoattacks don’t scale well at all in terms of teamfighting. Your silence and 60% slow also falls off lategame when bkbs start coming out.

Instead, her true power lies in absolute domination of midgame with 60% slow and 6 sec silence, combined with crazy splitpush from her aura. Ogre dota 2 build drow

However, to achieve this, you need few things:

1. smart skill build: Max frost, then silence, then aura. Ogre dota 2 build drow Only max aura first/second if you have 4-5 range. However I will assume that is not the case. The new knockback silence is extremely good, as it serves as disengage as well as disruption. It is really quite easy to get multiple heroes with it, and the 0.5sec knockback gives you enough time to run up and hit the frost arrow. Frost arrow… please get it. It is 60% slow, come on. Don’t do the stats-aura build, she is not Medusa and patch is not 6.42b.

2. Positioning. This is where force staff is necessary. People will know you are squishy and try to kill you fast. If you have force staff, you can force -> silence to position yourself to silence multiple heroes and turn it around, or just force away to safety. It is also very good for chasing, since Drow’s move speed is average and her attack animation is really shit early, which means it is actually hard to catch someone even with orbwalk, especially if they use fog to their advantage.

3. Now, for the meat of my guide – the item build.

Early – Boots of your choice, I usually take Power Treads but sometimes I take Tranquils for regen/ms and change to treads later. It is important to give yourself ring of basilius/aquila for mana regen. You should be using frost/silence a lot and it will help you a lot in long term. I also grab magic stick because I know I will be participating in teamfights, and it helps mana issues even more.

Mid – Force staff, then situational: Completing force will open up a whole new way of playing Drow, just like what blink on Puck does. Its passive hp regen is also nice for neuting without lifesteal (frost arrow lasts 5 sec on creeps for ez kiting mode) while 10 int means you will never have mana problems again.

You have 3 options for situational items: BKB (vs Invoker, Mirana, Storm etc). Yasha (vs any general lineup without heavy cc or pa). MoM (for midgame ownage, but only if you are confident in positioning and it makes sense in the game). Oh and if they have PA, just rush MKB

And I would like to clarify something for many Drow players out there. Drow does not really need damage items to do damage. If you are able to position yourself, you get 40/60/80 Damage and attack speed. Combined with her aura, that alone is more than enough to do all the damage you need within the 6 sec silence to kill 1 or 2 heroes, and the teamfight is over then.

Also, unless it is a very specific circumstance, Manta is really cost inefficient. Her illusions don’t get ult or aura bonus which means they are really weak. They literally do like 15 damage each, and die to 2 aoe spells. Not worth it at all unless you absolutely must disjoint something. Just stick with naked Yasha for move speed.

4. Always remember to use the aura active.

I see so many Drow players play the entire game without pressing the aura and I facepalm. With level 16, Yasha and Agi treads, it will give about +50 damage to ranged/siege creeps. That is insane. Please use it.

5. Enjoy your boosted winrate with Drow 🙂 Go Drow lovers 🙂

Disclaimer: you must actually have the dota-sense for positioning, or force staff may be a wasted gold/item slot.

Watch Dota 2 Monkey King Teaser Trailer

13th August 2016 / 11:14AM

With the upcoming release of Underlord (The Artist Formerly Known As Pit Lord) there was more than a smattering of “What next for Dota 2 [official site]? Is that it for the hero roster?” Answering those questions at The International 2016 was Valve’s teaser trailer for new hero Monkey King! The simian sovereign will be coming in an update this autumn/fall called The New Journey. OBSERVE:

Just to run through some background info, Monkey King wasn’t an entirely unexpected addition to the hero lineup. A concept for a hero based on Sun Wukong from the Chinese novel, Journey To The West dates back to DotA. There are also a smattering of references which have appeared over the years – one is the item which grants True Strike which is actually called the Monkey King Bar (and is visually referenced by the staff carried by Monkey King in the trailer), another is the banana item which sparked a recent round of speculation over Sun Wukong’s return/introduction where update 6.87 introduced a situation where destroying trees in a private lobby game with cheats enabled sometimes drops a banana item. No word on whether the professional player Wang ‘Banana’ Jiao was part of an ongoing ARG related to this announcement.

There’s also the fondness of videogames for Sun Wukong variants. There is one in League of Legends and one in Smite if you’re looking at MOBAs specifically but Enslaved: Odyssey To The West also riffed on the legend, transferring it to a post-apocalyptic setting and having a really hench protagonist called Monkey leaping about and biffing people with a staff.

There’s nothing official about Monkey King’s abilities yet, although the trailer and the basic idea for the character will let you make some educated guesses. For example, I’m expecting a highly mobile melee hero who fights with a staff as the basic hero format. Beyond that the trailer indicates maybe a stun or a knockback using your staff which extends out in front of you. You’ll likely also get some sort of illusion ability – the trailer has Monkey King disguised as a tree, waiting for a chance to attack. There’s also a kind of hint at an ultimate ability which seems to be based around summoning a troop of monkeys to fight alongside you. No idea if they would be illusions or minions or… something else.

But yeah, that’s my guess for his skillset:

  • An ability that lets you move faster through trees or pass through trees instead of treating them as objects.
  • An ability that throws out a stun or knockback in a line in front of you.
  • A trickster ability that lets you disguise yourself as a tree.
  • An ultimate that summons a horde of monkey warriors.

I’ll be interested to hear his voicelines though – particularly if he purchases a Monkey King Bar. Dota 2’s a delight when it comes to acknowledging those little things in interesting ways. Oh. And anyone who donks Beastmaster in the face is okay by me.

    Contents

    Gameplay [ edit ]

    Playstyle
Faceless Void is a hero who holds mastery over time. He dashes through the battlefield, rewinding damage with Time Walk , stuns enemies with Time Lock , and causes their abilities to recharge slower with Time Dilation . His signature ability, Chronosphere , creates a bubble in space-time, stopping everything caught within so he and his team can beat down the enemy without retribution. As a melee carry, Faceless Void requires a large amount of farm in order to deal decent damage, but can be devastatingly powerful once he has his items. Faceless Void can be played solo in the off-lane, or with a support in the safe lane.
    Pros Cons
    • Wide area lockdown.
    • Low cooldown escape ability.
    • High damage output late game.
    • Item and farm dependent.
    • Chronosphere can also disable allies.
    • Weak against silence and long disable.

    • If you’re fighting an enemy one-on-one, use it when Chronosphere is about to expire instead of at the start, to waste no time on the debuff’s duration.

The Reach beta has concluded and the team is now working hard towards the Season 1 launch. Here we share some of the details on the upcoming Season, and what players can expect when they log in to play.

The new patch is wild, with all the positive and maybe some negative connotations this word implies. As such, we are trying to be extremely cautious when discussing it so that we don’t unnecessarily invoke some misguided disenchantment from the community.

62 new items are available for finding, not purchasing. You can now build your inventory through jungling and not spending your gold. Is this good? Bad? Who knows, it’s too early to tell.

The Reach Beta has been a valuable month for us at Elo. The feedback from our community has allowed us to make considerable progress in refining the key automated systems of the platform and we couldn’t possibly be more excited to see people begin to play in Season One.

This is going to be less of a stats recap and more of a farewell to a patch, which overstayed its welcome for at least a couple of months. Instead of going over the same heroes once more, we felt it is more appropriate to highlight some of the heroes which were outside of the meta at the tournament’s start, but nevertheless had a great impact in the later stages of MDL Chengdu.

Bounty runes, come back gold, ancient creeps, camps stacking, and more. The economy of Dota keeps growing and growing but how does that affect supports and cores?

We’ve done a lot of testing with our current systems in the Reach league and are finally confident in opening it up to more users. Divine level players may now participate in Reach, effective immediately.

The first major tournament of the season is finally happening. Get up to date with all the teams participating, their odds of winning it all, and more!

Patch 7.22 is certainly overstaying its welcome and it clearly shows in the current professional tournaments. There are almost no new meta developments and for the most part the Summit 11 concentrated on the same exact heroes as the tournaments prior.

Captains and drafters are some of the most revered pros in the scene. The genius drafting strategies and counter picks can win the game before the first bounty runes spawn. Here are some draft ideas to try out for your next battle cup tournament.

Reach had an exciting and informative first week of games, with over 1000 matches played, and over 1200 unique players participating. Here’s the rundown on week 1, and what’s coming down the pipeline.

The idea of a tanky frontline hero in the offlane has been repeated over and over again for the last several months. It makes sense on the professional scene, while working incredibly well in pubs. Building survivability items and allowing yourself to be initiated on has become the go to strategy for a lot of teams and it is unlikely to change until after the new patch is released.

MMR may just be a number but a higher number is superior. Read this article to learn a few tips and tricks on growing your MMR number.

The current meta has been established for a long time but teams still must find their slight edge. At ESL One Hamburg 2019, we saw more of what we’ve been seeing for a few months now.

Feedback has been tremendous and consistent through the first two days of Reach play. We’ve heard the feedback, and we’re working on fixes. We’ll continue to communicate as we develop the platform, and continue iterate based on that feedback up to and through the launch of Season 1.

    How d > by Daniel Rosen Apr 12 2017

In ‘How Did This Happen,’ theScore esports takes a look back at some of the most busted, broken and insanely overpowered things to ever make their way into the world of competitive gaming.

Dota is often referred to a game that’s so unbalanced, it is effectively balanced. After all, if everything is OP, then nothing is, right? However, there are a few things that break that theory. One s the Fountain Hook, a strategy so cheesy and ridiculous that it nearly defined an entire tournament.

The Fountain Hook is a thing of legend. It’s spoken of in hushed tones, a memory of one of the greatest Dota 2 tournaments ever played. It was a hail mary strategy, a reliance on something goofy and gimmicky and theoretically impractical.

    How d >

The fountain hook is actually a pretty simple interaction. It was a combination of two abilities, Pudge’s Meat Hook and Chen’s Test of Faith (teleport). The Chen player begins the teleport and right before the animation ends, the Pudge player throws a hook and takes whoever it hits back to the fountain with him. It’s a (nearly) guaranteed kill, between the damage Pudge deals to you and the damage the fountain deals.

There were ways to avoid dying. Players can actually use a Town Portal Scroll to teleport back to their fountain while being hooked towards the enemies’. If the Pudge and Chen lost sync for even a second, their timing would be completely thrown off, and the Pudge would return to the fountain empty handed.

When things went wrong, the fountain hook was a pretty terrible situation for your team. You were likely going to end up 4v5, or your Pudge would have to burn a TP Scroll. But when it went right? It was unbelievable.

    WTF?

The fountain hook was around for a long time in Dota 2, but it rose to prominence during The International 2013, when Danylo “Dendi” Ishutin’s Pudge and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov’s Chen led Natus Vincere to a comeback victory against TongFu in the final game of the Winners’ Finals. Dendi and Puppey hit seven fountain hooks in a single game, with the first one at fifteen minutes.

Na`Vi was on the ropes, but the hook threw off TongFu and so Dendi just kept on throwing them out. Puppey and Dendi spent the rest of the game lurking in the shadows, throwing hooks and teleports with reckless abandon in a desperate attempt to make it back into the game. They tilted TongFu off the face of the earth and took the series 2-1.

Despite the hype, fountain hooking never really made it to pub games. The timing is too tight for high latency games, and you’d never be able to accomplish it unless you were in perfect sync with your teammate. Fountain hooking became a legendary trick, the cheesiest play in Dota that somehow, was only accessible at a pro level.

    What happened?

A few months after TI3, in response to calls from fans that fountain hooking was glitch abuse, Valve changed the way Pudge’s Meat Hook worked. In the September 2013 First Blood update, Valve changed Meat Hook so that enemies would be dragged to the location Pudge cast the ability, not his current location.

Years later, Dendi revealed that a good player could counter a fountain hook by using a TP scroll while flying to the enemy base. If the teleport animation completed before they hit the fountain, they’d jump back to their own base as soon as the dragging animation finished. Of course, that’s assuming the opponent could hit TP as soon as the hook started and even had a scroll in the first place — not exactly a perfect counter.

However, the fountain hook does still live. Though, not in the way you might expect. If the enemy team has a Pudge, a Rubick with a Refresher Orb can steal his Meat Hook, cast it, then use the orb and instantly cast it again as a Chen or Keeper of the Light warps him back to fountain. It costs a lot of gold, and the iconic dragging animation doesn’t go off, but it’s a fountain hook!

You know, it just isn’t the same if they aren’t careening towards your fountain, forced to face their own mortality for 20 agonizing seconds.

Daniel Rosen is a news editor for theScore esports. He’s still waiting for a Birdie skin for Pudge. You can follow him on Twitter.
