In May 2016 ESforce Holding invested in CSGOLounge and DOTA2Lounge as in a service of in-game item trade, match prediction and entertaining media platform. The service was not a betting platform. After Valve’s notification it was decided that the service would not accept item or real money bets. We plan to further develop the service as a media resource for video game and eSports fans and also to introduce an encouragement system for our game “Virtual coin bets” participants.

The CSGOLounge and DOTA2Lounge services have never had any tools for money input and output and never made profit as a betting platform. The only way to receive income was advertising. In the summer of 2016, after our Steam bots had been hacked, our platforms had to implement a small fee for a 3 month period in order to defend our bots and recover lost items. After Valve had banned our bots with in-game items which belonged to the CSGOLounge and DOTA2Lounge users, ESforce and Borewik made a decision to refund the items with their own means. The decision required a lot of time and work, and it is final.

Today we are announcing that we are closing our virtual items betting functionality with immediate effect. Depositing virtual skins and items in order to place a bet is not possible anymore.

At the moment we are working on a solution for items withdrawal, please stay tuned for an update on this topic.

Introduction

Items

I usually go for the same items in most of my games, with the 6th item being a choice between Linkens Sphere and Octarine Core.

1 – Treads
2 – Armlet
3 – Echo Sabre
4 – Manta Style
5 – Heart
6 – Linkens or Octarine

Talents

As a general rule I take the first point in skill 1 – Chaos Bolt. This is quite useful for a first blood if you have good team mates with you. However it has a really high mana cost for the beginning of the game so use sparingly.

Second point in Chaos Strike. This is due to its lifesteal capability and this is very useful when laning, or jungling, depending on how its going.

Third point in Reality Rift. This is useful in a combo with Chaos bolt. Especially if the enemy gets too close to your tower, you are able to bring them closer, and then stun.

From this I try and max Chaos strike first, Reality Rift second and Chaos Bolt last. Taking the Phantasm when able.

Early/Mid/Late Game

Early – Try not to die. Chaos is quite a slow starter and doesn’t really get going until you have your armlet, and level 6. All I try and do in the early game is get as many last hits as I can and stick quite close to my tower. I wouldn’t recommend mid lane as he is very vulnerable to ranged enemies.

Mid – This is your time to start getting some gold up. You will probably have your armlet/treads and Echo by now. Here is the time to start getting some kills. Use Armlet first, then Phantasm (I know some people use it later, but I prefer doing it first). Reality Rift, then Chaos Bolt. This brings their armour down, they are right next to you for your illusions to strike, and they are stunned. This should usually bring you a kill.

Wait for mana/Phantasm to reset, and start again.

Late – If you have been well fed, or have laned well, then you will be unstoppable. Once you have Heart, and with your armlet constantly on, you can create illusions at will. Each of these illusions will have just under 5000 health each.

I usually go for a linkens sphere if the enemy team are targeting me, or am octarine, as it allows you to create even more illusions quicker.

Talent tree

Level 10 – I usually take the attack speed as later in the game the extra intelligence doesn’t really matter

Level 15 – I always go for the strength option. The movement speed is nice, but your reality rift brings the enemy close to you, so the extra speed isn’t needed

Level 20 – This one could go either way. If I think the game is going to go late I will take the money, as once you hit 40mins+ then it allows you to buy whatever you want. However if we are winning and are looking at finishing the game I will take the stats.

Level 25 – I always take the cooldown as it allows you to use your talents that much sooner. I don’t really see the point of the other skill. I have tested it and it doesn’t go through Linkens or BKB.

I have played quite a few games as Chaos Knight now, there are a few enemies that I would class as counter picks.

Phanton Lancer – Nightmare playing against, he creates more illusions than you
Sven – Has a free battlefury and can hit all your illusions as once
Bristleback – His passive hits all your illusions every time you hit him.

There are probably some more, but I will add when I think of them.

No matter the changes to the Meta, you will still see Anti Mage being picked up by professional teams every no own then.

5. Phantom Lancer

The place of both Phantom Lancer and Anti-Mage is relatively the same. Phantom lancer slightly wins during the current Meta because of his farming abilities as well as his input from early game. Though professional players tend to favor the hero more for split pushing it certainly doesn’t mean Phantom lancer isn’t good in team fights.

6. Gyrocopter

Though there were slight nerfs to the hero, Gyrocopter still remains a solid pick in the competitive scene. The AOE damage burst and lock down abilities of Gyrocopter make him a favorable pick in many matches. Plus, his incredible ability to quickly finish off lanes, and heroes make him a true contender in the fight for the best Dota 2 Carry.

7. Ember Spirit

A hero that is favored in both mid and carry role, Ember Spirit’s snowball mechanics are so good that no team wants to let go it to others. Ember Spirit is a greatly contested hero in professional matches who will either be picked or get banned in the drafting stage. Almost every team is good with Ember Spirit on their side and therefore the hero is expected to be heavily contested in the future as well.

8. Alchemist

Ever since the update, Alchemist has been revived from the dead. The new build on Alchemist is working wonders in the professional scene and the hero is getting contested more than ever. VG’s Super is trying to get his hands on the hero whenever possible. Alchemist is definitely going to be one of those heroes you will be seeing at The International 2018.

9. Shadow Fiend

Shadow Fiend is among those heroes that have great potential to come back from gold deficit really really fast. Even if Shadow Fiend does not have a good lane stage with a little bit of support and creep stacks Shadow Fiend can be up and running in no time. 10. Faceless Void

Faceless Void has been one of the most consistent picks in Dota 2. However, this agility based character receiving some serious nerfs in the past, the pro scene Meta kicked him out. Update 16th December, 2015: The patch is now live to download through Steam, after a day of bugfixing and other bits and bobs on the test server. I sure hope they fixed everything. Wouldn’t be like Valve to release content that hadn’t been tested properly now, would it?

Now would be a good time to play some nice Dota 2 custom games and forget your troubles.

If you’re interested in watching some pro games, esteemed PCGamesN contributor Chris Higgins points me at this arhiveof Virtus Pro vs. Team STARK, part of the MarsTV Dota 2 League, which was the first Dota game of 6.86 played. Mid-series, even. What a fun trainwreck it was.

Meanwhile the World Cyber Arena has started, a much-maligned but nevertheless massively-prize-pooled Chinese tournaments with some of the best teams in the world, including Secret and all the major Chinese teams. The streams are split across BeyondTheSummitand the pair of JoinDota streams, Red and Blue. It’s running until Monday, and will be the final tournament of the year as well as the first tournament on 6.86.

Update 15th December, 2015: The full patch notes are now available for The Balance of Power, as the patch is officially known. It adds a hero, Arc Warden, four new items, redesigns Riki, Doom, Death Prophet, Faceless Void, Lone Druid and Winter Wyrvern. Perhaps most terrifying of all, Earth Spirit (along with Oracle and Terrorblade) has been added to Captain’s Mode.

The teaser site has a nice big image of a team containing current-patch all star Doom and lesser friends Lone Druid (bear not pictured), Faceless Void, Rikimaru and Death Prophet. All the community’s digging and theorising and possibility considering has resulted in nothing of any possible worth being gleaned from that, but gosh have they tried:

Meanwhile the thread on Reddit linking to it so far has 5000+ upvotes in a little over an hour, which is impressive work for something that is, as the flair says, “literally nothing.”

We’ll keep this post updated with whatever comes to pass. In the mean time, here’s proof that the Dota 2 Test Client has been changed today, another sign the patch should be coming soon, were one needed. For now, the waiting game continues.

General DiscussionArc Warden: Scythe of Vyse or Nullifier?

Hello guys, I hope to get some opinions from Arc players here. After Mjollnir, BOT, Blink, BKB, Bloodthorn, I am thinking between Scythe and Nullifier for Arc Warden. Which one is better? and in which situation we should get which? Your attention is much appreciated!

Not really sure I understand why Blink and BKB are in your build for Arc Warden. Pike and SB/SE seem like better choices most of the time.
On the question asked, I know I’m 3K compared to your 4K(just throwing it out there because of the number of people lately who’ve been complaining about lower MMR giving advice to higher), but looking at it, Nullifier seems better, because it’s cheaper and lower CD. Coupled with orchid/bloodthorne, your target is pretty immobilized anyways.

If u have orchid might as well go nullifier since they work so well together

Blink/Shadow blade functions almost the same for me, shadow blade is great in pub bcoz it force opponent to spend money for sentry. Blink sometime in place for shadow blade for positioning, just like DK? and BKB if opponents got control, no?

Oh yeah, 3K or 4K i think it’s just that u spam ur comfortable heroes, but u may be 7k in ARC compare to me 1k in arc.

Fo what I understand is that nullifier + orchid can have 5 sec effect, but hex is 3.5 sec, while giving mana pool and mana regen. In the meanwhile Nullifier give dmg. I plan to play more Arc, and I am wondering about the item choice between these two..

Arc Warden doesn’t really rely on mana in the later stages of the game. The +35 int is decent for spell amp on your mjollnir lightning, but nothing to build around. The +10 strength and agi aren’t worth the cost.
If your micro is on point, I guess you can make the claim that you can essentially shut down the whole enemy team with scythe; ideally, sheep the 2 cores, orchid silence the 2 supports, whereas with nullifier you’re only going to guarantee complete lockdown on 2 heroes (nullify+orchid on one hero to keep them down). I’m no expert on this. I just think that nullifier would be more suitable, many may disagree. I just feel that silver edge+nullifier+bloodthorne all but gives the same effect as a scythe anyways.

The main argument for nullifier is the dmg
I find that against tanky enemies arc Warden kinda needs the raw dmg
Blink =/= sb
Sb allows you to threaten and take map control, blink is much more abt jumping on a backliner or important target imo

rosh. cfg is nice, telling u about rosh timer, who has other heroes cfg? like tinker, meepo etc.

I had “dota_range_display 1200” for Lone Druid and “dota_range_display 800” for Luna (dota_range_display 675 whenever Ult was ready).

For some reason nothing seems to still work

You could add it in the console or prep a cfg file that dota will refer to on start up

So could someone send me their cfg files and tell me how to get it in?

The difference between doing it in console and in a cfg file is that if you do it in console, it sometimes won’t save your setting.

You can search how to do the cfg file quite easily. Mine is tailored to my laptop in order to be able to give me better fps etc (because laptops, especially those that aren’t made for gaming, can be quite slow)

1- Open a Notepad
2- Type in ur console commands like the ones above
3- Name it Autoexec. cfg
4- Move the Notepad (after naming it Autoexec. cfg) to —> Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg
5- Restart Dota if u did those steps while it was opened, then test the commands in a lobby, maybe if u used someone’s net_graph command whose screen’s Aspect ratio/Resolution is way different, and u might get the graph obstructing vision.

If u receive a ready cfg file, then no need to do all that, just move it to the same place (make sure it is named Autoexec. cfg).
