Still its a bit of patches to go to get back to the good old days where you could play varius diffrent styles and still have a 50/50 shot at winning instead of The play carrying solo mid with husk or wr (metashit) or only 5% change to win.

Dead game would be game that has no player base and no tournaments whatsoever, there is no acctual dead. Dota 2 is not even close to dead and new players are always emerging, maybe young players are not used to dead games so they think game is dead even it is not. Getting online, having 100 active friends in all mmr ranges is kinda alive. Maybe problem is on higher levels, or on pro level, but it is understandable, since not many players can achieve that level and join that club, so it seems dead specially when some of them stop playing or leave for other game.

If decline is case, we would see dota 3 coming out, not new patches. It might be normal that there is loss in interest between two TI’s. Let’s wait and see what happens when hype kicks in. But it is still dota2 with new interface. Sorry, didn’t know it counts as new dota game. Rank system has it flaws for sure, game meta changes, some heros from top tier picks go back to mid or low, it is how it is. You can always say good bye to dota and come back whenever you like, start from 0 and find way to enjoy it, but I doubt it will die so easily.

Meta sapm has been present since forever. Nightmares of 6.57 DP and Necro still haunt me. Morph in 6.64. Zombie post rework. etc.

Game was actually dying during reborn beta, and post reborn release due to people being unfamiliar with the main menu, hipsters complaining that the old one was better (when it’s NOT, the old one was super basic, good, but too basic)(arcade mode is amazing) and all the bugs and glitches that came with reborn dropped the population, now numbers are high again.

I don’t get how people can say TI 2 and 3 had more players, uh, it didn’t, I didn’t play back then, but the statistics are there, game has grown ALOT. Prize money for tournaments is higher, MOBAS are STILL ON THE RISE (hence why tons of moba clones are coming out like crazy) PC gaming is on the rise (Dota or counter strike usually being the first games people hear of on Steam) Also, when the International 2011 was happening, Twitch was barely being born, and the game didn’t get nearly as much coverage back then as it does now. Looks 2 me like the game is just growing! Sure some people have given up on the game, but they should be ignored. I normally play by myself now, as my friends have started playing less or moved away, but I still have a gr8 time every game! There are some complete dickheads but a lot of gr8 people & there always will be.

Hotkeys

The hotkeys settings can be accessed by clicking on the little gear icon in the most top left corner in the main menu. Here, the player can customize many hotkeys, or select one of the many pre-set hotkey templates. Almost every key on the keyboard can be bound to something, with a very few exceptions. The exceptions usually have a set purpose in the game and thus are un-rebindable.

Unbindable keys [ edit ]

Several hotkeys have a set purpose, which cannot be changed. This results in them mostly being un-rebindable.

• The following keys are completely unbindable: ESC, SHIFT (left and right), CTRL (left and right), MOUSE 1, MOUSE 2
• The ALT key can only bound together with other keys, as a combo key. The ALTGR key is treated as the same key.
  • Although the ALT modifier can be bound to another key, ALT is still unbindable. When the modifier gets rebound, ALT has no use.
• The WINDOWS KEY (left and right) (or COMMAND KEY on Apple keyboards) are unbindable, but they can be turned bindable in the advanced hotkey settings. These keys keep their default function, which is opening the start menu on the desktop. This is true even when the keys get bound ingame.
• The PRINT KEY is fully bindable, but it also keeps its default function, which is to take screenshots.
• The following keys are bindable on their own, but cannot be combined with ALT: PRINT KEY, TAB
• All other standard keys are bindable.

Basic hotkeys [ edit ]

Basic hotkeys are active while playing a match. The player can change the hotkeys at any time, even during a match. There are hotkeys for abilities, items, unit actions, shop actions, chat, interface and control groups. In the advanced hotkeys, there are additional settings for unit actions, shop actions, interface and control groups, and the hotkeys for camera actions, saved camera positions and some hotkey setting options.

Hotkey templates [ edit ]

By default, the game uses the “Arrow (Default)” hotkey layout. The player can choose from a variety of pre-set hotkey templates, which can be found by clicking on “Reset hotkeys. ” at the bottom left of the settings menu. Available templates are:

Activating a template unbinds all hotkeys used in it from their existing actions. Hotkeys can still be changed freely after selecting a template, except Legacy Keys’ item hotkeys.

Abilities [ edit ]

There are 6 ability slots which can be used. If one slot is empty and contains no ability, it is not visible in-game, and all abilities coming after it are moved together. For example, if a unit has an ability in slot 1 and 3, but no ability in slot 2, then the 2nd slot is not visible and the 3rd ability is moved next to the 1st ability, so that there is no gap. However, the slots are still bound according to the settings. Despite the 3rd slot being moved to remove the gap, its hotkey is still equal to whatever is set for the 3rd slot in the ability hotkey settings.

Heroes usually have 3 abilities in their first 3 slots, and their ultimate always in the 6 slot. This causes the ultimate spell to always use whatever hotkey is set for the 6th slot, despite the ultimate visually appearing in the 4th slot. This is why the hotkey of the 4th ability on non-hero units is not equal to the hotkey of ultimate abilities. The non-hero unit has 4 abilities in its 4 slots and has the 5th and 6th slot empty, so they are not displayed. If its 4th ability would be moved to the 6th slot, it would make visually no difference, but change its hotkey to what is set in the 6th slot.

By default, the ability hotkeys apply to every unit the player controls. It is possible though, to bind different hotkeys to heroes, couriers and other units by turning “Unit Specific Hotkeys” on. It is also possible to bind unique hotkeys for each hero, however, this is not possible for other units. Clicking on “Clear” after having given non-hero units, couriers or an individual hero unique settings, sets the hotkeys back to what the player set as default.

The player can choose between regular cast (select spell and then select target) and quickcast (select spell and automatically cast it where the cursor is). Autocast is by default ALT+ability hotkey. It is possible to choose between regular and quickcast for couriers, non-heroes and for each hero, just like how unique bindings are possible. If the player wishes to use regular and quickcast, or wants to use different autocast hotkeys, the “Enable Advanced Quickcast/Autocast Hotkeys” setting can be turned on, which allows setting different hotkeys for regular, quick – and autocast for each slot. This also works together with unit specific hotkeys. However, advanced quickcast/autocast hotkeys is not compatible with legacy hotkeys. Here, the player can only decide between regular and quickcast, and autocast is always ALT+hotkey.

7.07 Dueling Fates — Off-lane / Hard-lane *

I previously made a gu >Axe for a long time” but I’m not able to log into that account now. so I used this acc.

Nyway, in the latest patch(7.07) I tried different builds and this build worked best for me.

Im not a pro player, but I feel this guide might help someone who has just begun playing Dota2 (the best game ever made)

Ive have a good Axe win streak and assure u with this build u will win most of ur matches. Im under 2k .

Any suggestions to improving the game are welcome .

[/color]Axe is one of the easiest hero to play and also can be the biggest feeder if played badly. Axe is also one of the easiest hero to kite.

The play style with axe –

1. Level up fast or fail

2. Be aggressive as possible and avoid dying .

3. Avo > UNLESS if it’s a sure kill and u benefit otherwise it’s a waste to trade 1 for 1 specially if the enemy kills u first .

4. Unless ur laning partner wants to go ultra aggressive, or u want to terrorise another enemy hero, avoid drawing creep aggro on urself as it pushes the wave unnecessarily and not to forget u still take a lot of damage from creeps early game.

5. U can draw creep agro on urself by right clicking on any hero on the map . You don’t always need to CULL either . Try and save as much mana as possible.

6. If u have a lane where you are vs 2 ranged heroes , request to switch lanes,
if that doesn’t happen ask to solo (at least u get better XP gain)

7. Worst case or last option if nothing happens as planned , run into jungle and don’t come back . till u get blink dagger. then work ur way up your other core item.

Starting items

1 set Tangoes,
1 Mango,
1 Stout shield,
2 Iron branches.
nothing goes wasted . by the time u have a Magic wand and a Tranquil boot ready, you are all set to Risk a lot and Fight.
. And also not die and save up for Blink dagger.

In my opinion, u don’t really need 2 sets of tangoes .

Magic wand gives 1.5 hp regen .. plus Axe’s high hp region, u are almost already set. plus the burst charge of 17x 15/color] of hp and mana [ Giving you 255 Health Points and 255 Mana points Early game is like popping a mini cheese . Magic wand will secure you kills. And it’s cheap * .
Tranquil , best boots on Axe.

Blink Dagger or Vanguard first?

Axe is not An item dependent hero but U need an initiation tool.. There is no other item as good as blink Dagger . also it helps u survive during crucial moments.

Best to get Blink ASAP .. but if the enemy focusses u all the time, **** everything else and rush a Vanguard.

Its better to be Laughed at for rushing Vanguard first than having to feed every team fight.

Crimson Guard Vs Blademail

Crimson Guard before Blademail ?

Crimson Guard has an active AOE which when activated blocks 60 damage from all incoming attacks + 2 Armour in a 900 radius, for 12 seconds hence secure more kills for urself and ur carries..

It affects all Allied heroes .

But remember to use the guard only when ur hp is very low, or if u want to save an ally.

Avoid using the active if somebody just used it(another crimson guard active), as it does not stack. And has a long cool down, almost a minute.

Most people rush Blademail and completely ignore Vanguard. But they usually get a Heart right after. If u have a lot of gold, its fine otherwise either u must do too much AFK farming or keep dying . either way The team suffers.

Manta Style – How to Exploit

One of my favourite items on Axe.

Although its not always needed, its amazing against SINGLE TARGET HEROES.
Plus the Bonus movement speed and agility, I prefer Manta over Force staff.

3. For all these heroes , Blink – Call – Blademail – Let Blademail be done – Manta – Crimson – Run or kill

5.Do not show the enemy when u pop ur manta and send one of the illu . It procs helix just as the original. and move AXE around just as u would to ur regular hero. Watch a rupture or a duel . Do this over and over again. lol.
6. Send ur illusions into the suspected areas and watch mines explode/ get wasted.
7.Use illu for pushes when ur teammates just won’t leave jungle, but u need to push.

* Once u get to higher mmr, this strategy might now work, but under 2k works almost every time.

* Ps – If u already enjoy microing, u will love this but if u don’t, then go for some more reliable item.

Late Game items

Its purely up to your play style .

But remember, you’re role is to cause chaos in the Battlefield. and if are doing ur job, its perfectly fine what ever items u want to go.

If not sure, ask your teammates what to buy next. In Dota2, there is always someone better than you
